Job Description
The Sonographer reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Performs vascular sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies.
Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with one credential (RDMS) within 3 months of graduation, new graduates need Certificate of Completion from the college
BLS for healthcare providers
Physical Demands Requirement:
Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
Preferred:
One year experience in vascular imaging

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
Accredited 2-year degree (Allied Health/Nursing, or comparable recognized and accredited program in Ultrasound Technology
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience
Experienced subject matter expert
Proficient in English
Excellent customer service skills, bedside manner and overall energy
Forward-Thinking and tech-savvy
Ability to work effectively, efficiently and professionally in a team
Ability to complete patient exams independently with little direction

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cardiac Sonographer II follows established policies, procedures, and performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests independently as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonography in one patient population (Adult, Pediatric, Fetal). Obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease. Ensures echocardiogram exams are of acceptable quality and records results. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
* Associate's degree in allied health that is patient care related or Bachelor's degree (any major) OR Completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program.
Experience:
* 1 year experience in transthoracic echocardiology
Licensure/ Certification:
* BLS certification through the American Heart Association, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in 1 patient population (Adult, Pediatrics, Fetal).
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
* Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
