What you'll do as a Pro AV/Sound Technician
- Performs installation and moves, adds and changes for Tech Electronics' ProSound, Audio Visual and Control systems at the customer or project site Processes any credits to be issued to the customer
- Escalates safety issues, system performance issues and/or customer issues to the ProSound/AV/Control Project Manager to ensure proper resolution of issues
- Responsible for overseeing the entire installation and/or service repair process of Tech Electronics systems at the project or customer site
- Assists ProSound/AV/Control Systems Designer/Engineer when additional design or programming support is needed
- Maintains a detailed understanding of all local and national codes and ensures system installations adhere to applicable codes
- Generate sales while on service & is responsible for suggesting methods to improve operations, processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers

Essential Job Functions:
This will be a full-time touring position. Your general responsibilities, under the supervision of the Technical Director, will include:
- Ability and desire to tour full-time.
- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsal/training, maintenance and evening show performances.

- Leadership skills and experience directing local teams during loading and loadouts.

- Maintain a safe working environment at all times, by adhering to all established safety policies and procedures, tour rules and regulations; participate in all required safety classes.

Job Specific Requirements:
- Operate and troubleshoot for shows, rehearsals and other events.
- Assist fly-in lead audio technician with the load-in and load-out of all audio equipment.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy loads, walk, stand, sit, crouch, bend, stretch and reach.
- Run deck cue tracks, as directed for artist training, and special events.
- Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation, as directed.
- Inspect and maintain audio equipment, ensure all documentation is current and formally recorded.
- Utilize maintenance databases and other software tools to track all preventative and reactive maintenance routines, as well as any other information pertinent to the security of the show’s run.
- Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to ensure the on-going needs of the production.
- Observe safe wiring practices and maintain equipment, in accordance with industry standards for safe operations.
- Participate in special projects, including the installation of new audio show elements
- Develop a thorough knowledge of Audio Department equipment specific to the production, in order to operate it safely.
- Assist with the cross-training program to backup operators.
- Learn and run other pertinent show tracks to ensure the safe and continued operation of the show, as required by the Technical Director.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- At least 3 years of previous experience as a professional Audio Technician or equivalent training preferred
- Previous touring experience preferred.
- Working operating and programming knowledge of Allen and Heath Audio consoles
- Working knowledge of digital test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Comprehension of basic principles of AC/DC electricity, basic electronics, and computer operations, as it pertains to sound systems.
- Experience with Qlabs/Qsys preferred.
- Knowledge of Dante or outer Audio via IP a plus
- *10-hour OSHA course completion card a plus.
- *Current First-Aid certification is a plus.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must have working knowledge of Google platform.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work in North America, UK, EU, and South America.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Summary:
The Brown University/Trinity Repertory Company MFA Program (an educational, professional training program) seeks multiple Sound Technicians/Board Operators for various positions throughout the 2021-22 academic season. The Sound Technician/Board Operator works directly with the Technical Supervisor to install, troubleshoot, focus, and operate sound systems. Responsibilities include hanging, cabling, and focusing systems based on relevant plot and diagram paperwork. The Sound Technician/Board Operator works directly with the Sound Designer to record cues during the tech process, based on designer instruction, and is responsible for executing recorded cues during performances, and any live mixing of microphones. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights, and moving up to 50 pounds. Housing and parking are not provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Working with the Technical Supervisor to install, focus, and operate sound systems.
- Live mixing of stage performances, including management of wired and wireless microphones.
