⭐️ The Data Team ⭐️

Being part of Alan's data team means you'll have a positive impact on people's health and wellbeing. We create insights to help our colleagues focus on what is most impactful. We build features and tools powered by data that directly help our members.

We are at a time in our development where we want to become an ML-first company. We believe in the transformative impact of Machine Learning and other Data Science technologies, which will increase delight for our customers and efficiency of our team.

We believe in having a full stack approach, with each member of our community being exposed to all 3 aspects of the data spectrum skills (analytics, engineering, science). This encourages strong ownership and drives impact.

We are currently looking for new colleagues that have mastered their craft around Machine Learning topics (4+ years of experience in teams leveraging ML) and will drive the ML-powered products that Alan is currently developing.

We own our infrastructure. We pride ourselves on a nimble data stack that gives us the flexibility we need. We leverage existing libraries and cloud providers and we also build in-house tooling to organize our data and serve it to the rest of the company. You will have a direct impact in building the future of our nascent ML infra.

⭐️ Expected Skills and Abilities ⭐️

We are mainly looking for senior professionals with a strong belief that Machine Learning goes beyond models and theory, that it is a means to an end instead of finality, and that the impact of AI relies on one's ability to implement it. The more experience you have, the broader the scope, size and complexity of projects you'll handle.

You'll also have the opportunity to directly support the growth of other members of the team. We are also excited to welcome very senior profiles to lead our ML effort.

You would thrive at Alan if most of this sounds like you:
- Passionate about owning challenges from complex problems to simple solutions.
- Curious about the ML field at large, its technological and societal evolutions.
- Strong fundamentals in Statistics and Machine Learning.
- Proficient in Python and fundamental ML libraries (eg: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, …).
- Setting a high standard of rigor and precision for yourself.
- Great listening and communication skills- Humble, kind, collaborative, and still willing to grow!
- Fluent and clear in English, both oral and written (no need to speak French!).
