CTL|Thompson Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer for its Colorado Springs, CO office. The successful applicant will work with the Division Manager or Field Services Manager to provide oversight during construction of projects such as land development, commercial buildings and residential projects. Strong desire and ability to provide client-focused service are required. Construction observation and materials testing experience with soils, pavements, foundations, and various structure construction methods are required. Local experience, including with expansive soils is desired, but not required. Work will be primarily geared toward projects; however, client service and business development will also be required.
Duties will include:

+ Engineering oversight of construction observation and materials testing services, under the direction of the Field Services Manager

+ Writing proposals, reports, and letters

+ Providing engineering consultation

+ Attending project meetings

+ Marketing

The ideal applicant will have a B.S. in engineering (MS preferred), and about 3 years of geotechnical experience. In addition to strong engineering skills, this individual must possess an understanding of construction methods and client relations. Good writing and communication skills are essential. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Staff Engineers are paid an annual salary between $45,000.00 and $80,000.00 plus discretionary bonuses. Our offer will be based upon individuals experience and qualifications. Job Description Overview


As a Staff Engineer, Field Applications (SERDES), reporting into the North American sales organization, you will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted technical advisor to our Automotive OEM and Tier 1 customers for ADI's innovative SERDES technology - Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL). This includes identifying and understanding customer needs and opportunities; proposing system solutions; and supporting design-in activities. The position requires an ability to function autonomously as a technology expert that enjoys working in a dynamic environment with the other members of the local sales and applications engineering teams.

Senior-level experience with high-speed signal integrity fundamentals and design best practices is required. A working knowledge of serial link solutions for high-bandwidth data connectivity (cameras, displays, high performance processors) is beneficial. Understanding of automotive infotainment or ADAS systems is also a plus, but not required. The ideal candidate has solid communications skills with the ability to understand and manage customers' expectations. Knowledge of automotive development principles/processes or functional safety a plus.


Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Proposing technical solutions and advising customers' system- and circuit-level designs
  • Troubleshooting customer hardware and software/firmware performance issues
  • Understanding and disseminating market trends and customer system requirements
  • Training customers on ADI's Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) products and best practices
  • Training Analog Devices' internal global sales and support team members on GMSL products
  • Contributing to GMSL development strategy and product definitions
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customer engineering teams and management as well as internal ADI sales, product, and applications teams


Qualifications
