Transports instruments and supplies, delivering items to their destination within an efficient time frame prioritizing patient safety. Achieves and maintains productivity demand level for area by fulfilling order requests in a timely manner for patients from various hospital departments. Sets up of decontamination and assembly workstations daily following established standard of work processes (SOW) for all decontamination/sterilization, preparing and assembly. Transports case carts as requested, following established safety protocols and utilizes department tool aides to prevent errors. Assembles minor procedure instrumentation for nursing units, and all other ancillary departments. Receives and sorts medical equipment and instruments returned to decontamination, loading/unloading cart washer, emergency carts, and sterile supplies. Adheres to infection control and utilizes universal precautions PPE protocols. Participates in continuous process improvement and quality systems and stays abreast of related departmental practice guidelines and standards from the Joint Commission, AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses). Job Summary and Qualifications As a Sterile Processing Technician, youll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that's committed to the care and improvement of human life - one surgery at a time. Your responsibilities will include: * Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards * Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care * Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs * Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized * Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries What qualifications you will need: * High School Graduate / GED * Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician school. * Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment.
