Responsible for cleaning, testing and/ or packaging of medical devices according to the specific product line.

Demonstrates proficiency in the specific product knowledge by completing the competencies and evaluations in the specified timeline.

Completes repetitive tasks according to Standard Operating Procedure of medical device reprocessing for the specific product

Responsible for production output to meet hourly goals in conjunction with quality standards as outlined

Responsible for engaging and communicating effectively to promote a positive team-based environment where treating each person with dignity and respect is of significant importance

Demonstrates a daily passion for continuous improvement strategies while striving for operational excellence in a target focused environment

Basic computer skills are required to be able to autonomously navigate the in-house learning management system
Ability to record and document daily work logs

**Shifts Available**

1st shift - (Start Time 4am or 5am - End Time 3:30pm), Monday through Friday (Some Saturdays) $15.00/hr

2nd shift (Start Time 4pm- End Time 2:30am) Monday through Friday (Some Saturdays) $16.00/hr

**Work Environment**

Works within a medically controlled environment

Wears PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as surgical hair cover, surgical face mask, surgical gloves, face shield, safety glasses and lab-style gown.

This environment will require prolonged standing, walking, fast paced repetitive hand to finger motions

163PCU is a 19 bed surgical progressive care unit. The patient population is comprised of acutely ill surgical patients requiring a higher level of nursing care and monitoring. This unit primarily cares for post-op patients admitted to the Abdominal Transplant, Hepatobiliary Surgery, ENT/Plastics Surgery and Ortho-micro Surgery teams. Secondary, this unit manages critical care needs for patients admitted to the Trauma/ACCS/Geriatric Trauma Surgery teams, Orthopedic-Spine/Recon/Hand etc. teams as well as Vascular Surgery and other overflow teams.

Role Purpose

Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
