Sweeping Corporation of America CEO and leadership

Michael is the Chief Development Officer. In this role, he leads SCA’s mergers & acquisitions team, sales & marketing efforts, and strategic planning. Prior to SCA, Mr. Latanza was the owner and operator of USA Services of Florida, the largest street sweeping company in the state and one of the largest in the country. Michael brings the unique value of having the depth of experience of over 25 years in the sweeping industry at all levels of the operation including truck operations and maintenance, customer relations, business development, process improvement, contract bidding/negotiation, mergers & acquisitions, and executive management. Michael has a BSBA from the University of Central Florida.

Joe Borden is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Sweeping Corporation of America. Prior to SCA, Joe held the role of Aviation and Education Industry Groups VP of Finance for a Fortune 500 facilities management company where he was the head of FP&A, treasury, strategic planning, labor, and pricing for $2B of revenue with 30,000 employees and over 1,000 commercial vehicles globally. For twelve years prior, Joe spent time with a Fortune 500 vehicle rental company and previously private equity owned by CDR, Carlyle, and Merrill Lynch. There, he led their Off-Airport Division, a newly formed operating division across North America where he led FP&A, construction, and real estate in 2,800 locations generating over $1.6B of revenue with 4,200 employees. Throughout his career at the car rental firm, Joe was a leader through multi-year operational transformations and the integration of a $1B+ acquisition. Joe has his BA in Accounting from Holy Family University and received his MBA in Corporate Finance and Economics from Drexel University.

Matt is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SCA. Prior to SCA, Matt held the role of Chief Operating Officer since 2017 of WCA Waste, a private equity-backed environmental services company, and was Senior Vice President of Operations from 2015 to 2017. In this role, he was responsible for environmental, health, and safety, training/organizational development, commercial sales, engineering, and fleet procurement for over 90 locations, 1,600 employees, and a P&L budget of $420M. For the 12 years prior to WCA Waste, Matt held progressive management positions in safety and operations for Republic Services (NYSE: RSG) and Waste Management (NYSE: WM) that included Area Safety Manager to General Manager of a $90M vertically integrated market. Matt has a BS from the University of South Carolina.

Doug is the Chief Information Officer at SCA and is accountable for all technology initiatives within the corporation. He is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the enterprise technology systems that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and enhance employee and customer experience. Focus areas are process automation, analytics/business intelligence, scalable platform transformation, and security strategy development. Doug has 25 years of experience in technology leading teams in transformational projects supporting revenue growth, customer experience, and security and compliance. He has spent 20 years in the environmental services industry, most recently with Advanced Disposal where he served as Vice President and CIO. Doug is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Russian History & Political Science.
