System design engineer job description

In this role, you will be working with a team of HW/SW engineers to develop NVIDIA GPU/Tegra based products for Gaming, Datacenter, Workstation, and autonomous driving platforms.
What You'll be Doing:

+ Build system hardware products around GPU & Tegra chips.

+ Collaborate with cross-function team to pursue the balance of product cost, performance, and schedule under the guidance of system architects and product architects.

+ Drive initial test and bringup, lead the debug efforts.

+ Create schematic, supervise PCB layout and system validation.

+ Handle documentation required to release the product to manufactures and partners.

+ Optimize/invent circuits, functions for better performance, and lower cost.

+ Improve the design flow together with the infrastructure team.

What We Need to See:

+ B.S or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

+ 5+ years of proven experience.

+ Have strong analytical skills including past experience in PCB design and review.

+ Experience with using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.

+ Possess a nurtured knowledge of Linux, and be very comfortable working in various Linux environments as well as with Windows OS's

+ Strong verbal and written skills.

Position will support the integration of new inflation systems into existing safety euipment. In the spirit of teamwork, and in support of the matrix organization, the work may involve slides, slide/rafts, liferafts, and life vests. The successful candidate will be expected to take direction from the Project Managers, and/or the VP of Engineering, take initiative where appropriate and have the ability to effectively communicate with the individuals working in support of Engineering efforts. The position requires strong problem solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, at a fast pace and on multiple projects. Additional desirable skills include the ability and willingness to take a physical, hands-on approach to engineering efforts. The ideal candidate will be proactive with demonstrated forward thinking capabilities, positive attitude and self-motivated.

1.Provide Engineering functions for the entire product development cycle (design, development, qualification, and certification. 2.Responsible for integration of new inflation systems into the existing safety equipment. 3.Write and review test plans and reports. 4.Collect and maintain test data and perform analyses as needed. 5.Participate in and provide direction to technicians for testing (Development/Qualification/Certification). 6.Ability to work as needed in the Engineering Test center during all seasons (Test Center is not climate controlled). 7.Apply root-cause analysis to solve problems as needed. 8.Limited travel to suppliers, customers, test laboratories, and other Safran facilities. 9.Use of computer aided design (CAD) software to design and analyze parts and assemblies. 10.Integrate all technical, cost, value, reliability and manufacturability requirements. 11.Design responsibility for preparation of engineering drawings. Approves release of drawings to Production. 12.Engineering support as necessary of in-house production effort and products in the field. 13.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

+ 5 years of experience in designing wireless solutions, including NFC systems

+ Experience in wireless communication and wireless systems, including digital communications, signal processing, protocols, radio propagation, and link budget analysis

+ Experience in factory processes and manufacturing

Preferred qualifications:

+ Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

+ Experience in High Frequency Structure Simulation (HFSS), Computer Simulation Technology (CST), or other simulation tools for NFC design

+ Experience in NFC chipset development or chipset integration in consumer electronics

+ Experience in NFC antenna/coil design and resonant tuning/optimization

+ Experience in Python or similar programming language, particularly for automation

+ Experience with lab equipment (e.g., spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes)

As an NFC System Design Hardware Engineer, you will be part of our design team building Customer Electronics (CE) products such as Pixel phones and other consumer hardware products. You will design, debug, and optimize the NFC system to exceed all required standards such as NFC Forum, EMVco and ISO.

You'll work with various suppliers and various cross-functional teams to ensure high quality next generation NFC performance and features. You will support early factory builds for bring up and debug, and be responsible for developing an engineering requirements document to provide a clear and concise direction for the design up front as well as a decision matrix documenting your design choices.
