"Hands on" team leader, responsible for overseeing team's daily initiatives, while also providing technical support for Mainframe Services z/OS operating systems.

Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, including operating system technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Serves as a seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides technical knowledge and capabilities as team manager and leader. Will influence activities of the team for initiatives and operations.
Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership to team, acting as first point of escalation, as well as collaborate on activities within the z/OS team and across mainframe engineering teams

* Provide system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems

* Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system.

* Write and maintain system documentation

* Collect information, analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems

* Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources

Required Skills:

* Minimum of 7 years of experience in mainframe systems programming role

* Subject Matter Expert in IBM Mainframe z/OS operating system, control, structure, logic, security

* Strong knowledge and experience with SMP/E, JES2, JES3, JCL, ISPF dialog management, REXX.

* Extensive understanding of IBM zEnterprise server hardware and facilities

* Previous experience managing large scale global deployments

Desired Skills:

* Experience with wide range of IBM and ISV product and vendor installation support tools

* Experience with IBM Assembler

LOB Job Description:

The team is responsible for the Mainframe z/OS operating system and server configuration, releases, patching, recovery and on-call support for systems in the RVA datacenter. This position is inclusive of the Mainframe Staffing Strategy to hire and maintain optimal staffing levels and expertise needed to ensure the successful operations of Mainframe Services. As well this position is needed to address the well tenured demographic of the z/OS operating system engineering team and reduce risk of knowledge loss through hiring and retaining mainframe technical talent.

SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Systems Engineering Team Lead (hereafter, "Team Lead") to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. These include the AN/FPQ-16, Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS), the AN/FPS-132, Upgraded Early Warning (UEWR) Radars and supporting systems. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, this Team Lead is responsible for responsive and coherent integration of efforts spanning overall mission engineering; configuration and data management; cyber and system security; testing; and system safety and risk assessment. The Team Lead will evaluate requirements and system operating issues, providing recommendations based on analysis of system performance, sustainment trending, emerging threats, and technology innovations. To be effective, the Team Lead will continually harmonize the efforts of the Systems Engineering Team with other program team leads (e.g., Integrated Product Support, Depot Maintenance, System-specific Incremental Sustainment, etc).
**Qualifications**

Required Education and Experience

+ Bachelor Degree and fourteen plus (14+); Masters Degree and twelve plus (12+); Phd and nine plus (9+) years experience in systems engineering and related areas.

+ Experience delivering solutions for national security, mission-critical, no-fail applications.

+ 9 years of experience managing large-scale Agile or SecDevOps teams/projects, to include support to cost estimating, baseline and risk management, schedule development, performance monitoring and reporting

+ Experience leading waterfall-to-agile transformations, designed to deliver Minimum Viable Products in a consistent cadence.

+ Experience with a broad range of system types: custom developed HW/SW, COTS/GOTS HW/SW, and specialty engineering of exotic material/limited supply items.

+ Experience establishing technical baselines for large weapon systems/sensor programs, including the tools, battle rhythms, governance, oversight, and defining roles/responsibilities.

+ Strong understanding of the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems, Cloud hosted development, integration, and test capability.

+ Experience with Digital and Model-based Systems Engineering

+ Experience in disciplines ranging the fully systems lifecycle (development, sustainment, operations).

+ Experience with configuration and data management, hardware and software test & evaluation of classified systems

+ Experience performing integrated lifecycle support to mission critical systems

+ Experience implementing cybersecurity solutions in existing, DoD systems

+ Experience with implementing and sustaining distributed systems, virtual operating system environments, and virtual/augmented reality technologies.

+ Experience translating operational requirements into system requirements; and system requirements into technical requirements/performance standards.

+ Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.

In this role you'll be responsible for Support to Operations task execution on the Fan and HPC Module hardware. Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

o Coordinate and lead an Integrated Product Team to meet task and technical requirements

o Plan and manage budget for all hardware and tasks.

o Prepare/present status and technical content to ESTO Leadership, CIPT & upper Pratt & Whitney management.

o Work closely with the IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.

Basic Qualifications:
