C++ is a general-purpose programming language that is used to create high-performing applications. It was invented as an extension to the C language. C++ lets the programmer have a high level of domination over memory and system resources. C++ is an object-oriented language that helps you implement real-time issues based on different data functions
- Designed and implemented software test tools for low level drivers in Assembly, C or C++ as required by customers.
- Programmed in SQL, C, C++ and Access developing databases for a large COM switch.
5. Linux
Linux is a Unix-like operating system. Just like Windows, Mac OS, and IOS, Linux is an operating system used by millions across the globe. Android itself is powered by the Linux operating system. Linux manages all the hardware resources that are associated with your computer. The software is famous because of the protection it grants from viruses, malware, and crashes. The Linux operating system is entirely free and is an open-source software meaning it can be altered by those equipped with the knowledge to code.
- Performed change/release/build management, administration, validation, and support testing under Windows and Linux platforms.
- Installed software and firmware upgrades, and conveyor belt application tests using LINUX programming, engineering procedures and built in diagnostics.
6. DOD
Definition of Done (DoD) is a set of deliverables that are needed to devise software. These deliverables are valuable to the system and can be exemplified by writing code, coding comments, unit testing, integration testing, design documents, release notes, and so on.
- Served as independent validation authority within DoD agency for Y2K compliance.
- Briefed projects/systems to other external National Agencies and DoD organizations.

Troubleshooting is the process of analyzing and fixing any kind of problem in a system or a machine. Troubleshooting is the detailed yet quick search in the system for the main source of an issue and solving it.
- Leveraged solid background in aviation electronics to guide smooth processes, troubleshoot issues and provide direction for integration initiatives.
- Assisted users with policies and procedures in order to establish new user accounts and troubleshoot web/networking connectivity.
8. RF
- Developed embedded system software for enhanced-integrated RF test equipment.
- Developed, integrated, and tested subsystem interfaces for RF receiver, tactical data link and voice communications systems.
9. System Design
System design refers to the electronic structural component of a system.
- Developed test tooling and analysis software for system testing and subsystem design development and evaluation.
- Supported instrumentation, fabrication and installation of flight test systems, and sub-system design alterations.
10. Java
Java is a widely-known programming language that was invented in 1995 and is owned by Oracle. It is a server-side language that was created to let app developers "write once, run anywhere". It is easy and simple to learn and use and is powerful, fast, and secure. This object-oriented programming language lets the code be reused that automatically lowers the development cost. Java is specially used for android apps, web and application servers, games, database connections, etc. This programming language is closely related to C++ making it easier for the users to switch between the two.
- Developed and implemented Java based instructional material for instructors to use in local classrooms, remotely, and via video conference.
- Created a JAVA class library to encapsulate and standardize common code blocks used in most JCAPS collaborations.
11. Software Development
Software development is the mechanism by which programmers create computer programs. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a framework for developing applications that follow technological needs and consumer requirements. It consists of many stages. The SDLC establishes an international standard that software developers can use to enhance and create their programs. It provides a well-defined framework for software developers to pursue in the production, maintenance, and design of premium quality software. The aim of the software development process is to create high-quality software on time and within budget.
- Worked closely with development and system release teams throughout the software life cycle and experienced in agile software development environments
- Performed as liaison for the full mission simulation facility teaming with design engineering, software development and engineering management.
12. Project Management
- Served as official Systems Representative for Flight Test Integration department in conferences with project management leaders and technical teams.
- Provided integration and project management for Cox projects relating to SeaChange digital video platform.
13. Database
A database is a collection of data and information which makes it easy to view, access, and manage. Databases save a lot of time and can store huge amounts of data. Databases make sorting data easier and stores it in certain fields which narrows the searching criteria. A database usually contains tables, graphs, and columns to display data.
- Handled upgrading of customer s system, database administration, system administration, and database conversion future requirements planning.
- Designed and maintained a Configuration Management database tracking all project material, hardware systems, software applications
14. System Engineering
- Perform system configuration as well as review system engineering principles and applications.
- Provided input for System Engineering Proposals.
15. System Performance
System performance refers to how efficient a computer system is, often measured on how much work is completed in a set timeframe. This measurement is estimated judging on a computer system's speed, the accuracy, and how efficient the work is completed. Depending on the field, a system's performance may be required to meet a certain level before the system can safely be used.
- Established tests and tracked data from periodic testing to predict age-related degradation in missile system performance.
- Preformed statistical analysis on system performance data gathered from HP server and SeeBeyond 4.5.3 environment.

What skills stand out on systems integration engineer resumes?
Director of Javelina Engineering Student Success Center, Texas A&M University - Kingsville
-Internship/co-op experience -Research experience
-Good leadership skills and involvement on campus and in the community and activities where the individual works as part of a team.
-Well written resume can tell a lot about the technical writing skill; a resume needs to be clean and comfortable to read; recruiters can find what they are looking for easily.
-Less is sometimes more because students sometimes will put more information on a resume than is pertinent to the position applying for.
What soft skills should all systems integration engineers possess?
David Garaventa
Director, Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity Programs, Assistant Professor, CIS, Albertus Magnus College
This is not to say that technical skills don't matter, because they do, especially in the IT field. But suppose an employee brings a strong set of soft skills to an IT team (e.g., collaboration, communication, critical thinking, etc.). In that case, they probably also can learn more technical skills as part of their job function. I once had a colleague say to me that when she is hiring, she has found that technical skill is all over the place...but it's the soft skills that are harder to find. Lastly, having the ability - and a desire - to be continually learning is essential. Technology is not static, and businesses are not static, so thinking critically in different settings across various technology platforms is very important. The tools your department uses today may not be the tools they are using tomorrow, so being fluid, adaptable, and constantly learning is the name of the game.
What hard/technical skills are most important for systems integration engineers?
David Garaventa
Director, Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity Programs, Assistant Professor, CIS, Albertus Magnus College
Going deeper into the subject, technical skills around project management, cloud infrastructure, security, and end-user support bridge across all industries. Having knowledge and skills in these areas will serve IT professionals well, no matter what field or industry they end up in. Again, it is challenging to recommend specific technical skills because the field of IT is so broad.
