We are seeking a Poultry House Operator, also known as a House Manager, to work in our Avian Business located in Lebanon, CT. The Poultry House Operator monitors feed, water, equipment and temperature within facilities housing avian flocks; keeps egg house and equipment clean and sanitary; collects and sanitizes eggs. Ensures humane care during the life of the flock. Maintains biosecurity and follows all biosecurity procedures. Monitors flock health and reports concerns to manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Communicate regularly with the Farm Manager.
+ Keep house and equipment clean and sanitary.
+ Collect and sanitize eggs in order to provide clean SPF eggs for sale.
+ Responsible for basic maintenance.
+ Monitor flock for health issues and report concerns to Farm Manager.
+ Perform blood draws weekly.
+ Maintain biosecurity, and follow biosecurity regulations
+ Monitor and maintain feeders, waterers, medicators, house temperatures, bird weights and condition.
+ Assist in training new hires.
+ Ensure the humane care of the birds during all phases of the life cycle.
+ Perform bird sales as requested.
+ Perform all other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Previous experience working with animals

The wage range for this position is generally $16.38 - $27.29/hr. Wage ranges are subject to change without notice by Charles River.
