The Test Engineer Technician is responsible for supporting repair depot, functional and/or in-circuit test fixtures to include training of test personnel in the use of fixtures as well as supporting the overall test needs of production. Technical resource for production required to have thorough knowledge of all products, subassemblies, hardware and test processes for assigned customers


Test Engineer Technician Education and Abilities:

• AS or equivalent (such as military training/trade school) in electronics or electrical/electronic technology with 5+ years Test Technician Experience

• Test Engineering Technician with 7+ years of experience in OEM/EMS

• Experience with environmental chamber operation and support

• Experience with vibration table operation and support

• Experience with ATE operation and support

• ETA Certification

• IPC 610 certification.

RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Installs, maintains, and operates communication systems (i.e., voice and data that includes remote infrastructures) Repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs, and tests a variety of test communication equipment Learns and/or operates test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and power meters, if necessary Position requires overtime (typically 5-15% per year) and travel (typically 10 - 20% per year). Individual may be assigned as a ship rider for some operations.
Educational/Training Requirements:

Overview

The Test Technician at Crestron will assist engineers, project leaders and managers with the creation of test solutions for Crestron products. Under supervision, this position will be responsible to assist with documentation development, parts procurement, tester/fixtures fabrication and assembly, deployment, and basic training for production.

This position requires electronics, computer and mechanical aptitude. In this role it is expected that the contributor assists engineers with builds and support computerized test stations, troubleshoot test problems, procure instrumentation and equipment for production test systems as well as troubleshooting. Helps developing tools, implement designs and integrate machinery, equipment and computer technologies to ensure effective manufacturing processes.

This is a 2nd Shift position - 5:00pm -1:30 am

Responsibilities
  • Assist test engineers with the development of test systems
  • Basic knowledge of test instrumentation (DMM, Scopes, waveform generators, etc.)
  • Interpret electrical and basic mechanical drawings to execute test equipment build tasks
  • Fabricate or assist with the fabrication of test fixtures and/or test systems or equipment with the guidance of a TE or a manager
  • Ability to solder, run cabling or wiring, create wire harnesses and basic circuit boards
  • Assist test engineers with tester debugging, reduction of intermittent failures and downtime of test equipment
  • Under guidance of the test engineer, prepare and generate test documentation and procedures to be used by test and production
