Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

+ 1 year of experience with object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++ or Python).

+ 1 year of experience with testing/releasing networking products.

+ 1 year of experience working with and testing multiple L2 and L3 networking protocols as well as troubleshooting automation.

Preferred qualifications:

Job Description

Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Zero Trust Network Engineer Tester to support the client. This position will be responsible for directing on-site technical exchange meetings and providing test recommendations, development of timelines, and test requirements. The selected candidate will have experience in cloud service provider integration and interoperability testing, integration, and acceptance testing. The engineer tester will draft a developmental test and evaluation plan that details the scope, data collection strategy, data management, and data analysis methodology of the test event. Responsibilities also include developing test concept briefs with a clear traceability and providing a comprehensive understanding of the system, its requirements, and the strategy for testing and obtaining data for each requirement.

Duties

• Direct on-site technical exchange meetings and provide test recommendations, development of timelines, and test requirements
• Develop Test Concept Briefs (TCB) with a clear traceability to the DSM and provide a comprehensive understanding of the system, its requirements, and the strategy for testing and obtaining data for each requirement
• Draft a Developmental Test and Evaluation Plan that details the scope, data collection strategy, data management, and data analysis methodology of the test event.
• Provide a baseline test schedule, for each product delivery or test event that will be integrated into the Government's Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) identifying tests, number of days of each test and environment the test will be conducted in.
• Prepare and present Test Readiness Review (TRR) briefings to gauge system and participant readiness to proceed into test events
• Validate successful installation on infrastructure that fully represents the program's operational environment to execute regression tests

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• PhD+ and 4 years of experience in Information Technology related field or Cybersecurity
• Master's degree and 10 years of experience in Information Technology related field or Cybersecurity
• At least 1 certification in area of specialization. Additional certifications in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience.

Required Clearance

• Top Secret with SCI Poly

The Role

You will work closely with our T&E team to identify and refine test requirements, articulate challenges, and develop test scenario solutions. You will be an integral contributor to the development of our overall T&E service offering and extension of our mission-specific configuration repository. You will assist our T&E team with cyber vulnerability testing and assessment to help develop resilient 4/5G network architectures.

The Cellular Network T&E test engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Identifying physical/vCORE element configurations
• Identifying physical/vRAN element configurations
• Providing technical support for packet core technologies
• Developing and implementing test configurations in the distributed T&E network across multiple test sites
• Developing 4G/5G interface and protocol configuration, using REST APIs, to tailor network services as needed
• Conducting 3GPP conformance testing
• Setting-up and collecting test KPIs and test logs
• Creating and disseminating test results via reports and providing recommendations for follow-on actions
• Regularly updating the test architecture with latest test software and 3GPP releases to maintain currency and advise the T&E team, where applicable, on growth areas and potential enhancements
• Tracking specifications, standards, guidelines, requirement changes, and updates
• Appropriately modifying the T&E related processes, procedures, and systems architecture

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree with a major in cellular technology focus or equivalent work experience in cellular network configuration and analysis, or other fields related to this position from an accredited university/college

Minimal Qualifications:

• Direct experience with GPRS, UMTS, LTE, 5G, and IMS functional elements and technologies
• A foundational understanding of 3GPP cellular network architectures
• Working knowledge of wireless technology such as: X-CSCF, PCRF, HSS, AAA, SGSN, GGSN, Home Agent, WAP Gateway, DPI Solutions, and Billing systems
• Working knowledge of network protocols such as: PPP, IPv4, IPv6, Proxy Mobile IP, GTP, Iu, Gb, Radius, Diameter

• Experience in collecting and analyzing the logs (Wireshark traces etc.)

Experience desired:

• 5+ years of operational experience with cellular packet core network technologies
• Experience in test scenario development and test architecture design and modeling
