The Arc of Ulster-Greene is a private not-for-profit agency founded on May 9, 1956 by a group of 50 local parents in Ulster County who believed their children with disabilities should receive educational services and have the same opportunities as their peers.
In 1967, a group of 50 local families in Greene County became the 49th chapter of NYSARC Greene County.
The Arc of Ulster-Greene Foundation was established in 1989 to provide continued financial backing to the organization.
In 1997, Ulster and Greene counties combined resources to create a more comprehensive offering of services to all of the people they support.
