Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Crew Leader
As a Crew Leader at Lewis Services, you will oversee and manage a crew performing utility vegetation management, ensuring safe and efficient tree trimming and line clearing operations for the utility and other customers.

What You Bring
At least 3 years of experience in a tree crew or in utility vegetation management.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements and A300 Pruning Standards for arboricultural operations.
Proficient in the identification of poisonous plants.
Proficiency in electrical circuit basics and interpreting circuit maps.
Advanced in tree ascent/descent using ropes and a safety saddle, and skilled in aerial lift operations.
Crew Leader Technical Knowledge and Skills Certification (or ability to complete).

What You'll Do
Travel to job sites and use company-provided, specialized equipment to accurately identify, locate, and mark all underground utilities and structures within scope, including those unlocatable by traditional methods and regardless of ownership or type. This can include abandoned facilities, chemical transport, and other exotic utilities.
Troubleshoot using your industry knowledge, advanced observational skills, problem-solving skills, deductive reasoning, and attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy in every locate.

What We're Looking For
2+ years of experience as a public or private utility locator with proven accuracy and professionalism. Experience with an engineering or SUE firm is a plus.
Experience locating multiple utility types in a variety of environments.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Adept with technology, including Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs. Willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/WORK EXPERIENCE
* The Inspector should possess knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques required for maximizing the receipt and transfer of quality product.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inspectors must be capable of being on their feet most of the day as well as: Work Environment: Scrap metal yard, outdoor all-weather conditions.
* stand and walk frequently on uneven ground and throughout the yard.
* lift and carry 50 pounds, capable of repetitive motion and be able to handle physical labor.
* push and pull occasionally when moving materials.
* crouch or bend at the knees consistently to move or access materials or equipment.
* stoop or bend at the waist consistently to move materials.
* reach at arm's length and overhead frequently.
* twist and turn at the neck and trunk continually.
* climb occasionally when obtaining items.
* manual dexterity required, as the Inspector will handle, grasp, and manipulate materials constantly.
* communicate clearly by speech and hearing continually.
* possess visual acuity needed for close detail work and documentation; and
* possess mental dexterity to work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness of their environment.
* Must pass a Background Check
* Must pass a Drug Screen and Physical
