What You'll Do As a tool and die maker you'll be part of our team located in Holliston, MA. You'll get to: * Make all types of intricate tools, jigs, fixtures, punches, gauges, and dies to closest tolerance. * Setup, operate and troubleshoot a variety of machinery including milling machines, lathes, band saws, hand tools, surface grinders and presses (turret, brake, punch) * Perform regular maintenance and preventive maintenance of production tooling and equipment * Break down, sharpen, repair and reassemble production tooling with and without tool prints. * Order replacement punch, dies, cluster tools etc. through appropriate vendors * Fixturing and gauging to include machining and assembling parts from SolidWorks files * Conform to health and safety requirements, quality standards and company policy Who You Are You always strive to do a good job…but wouldn't it be great if you could do your job and do a world of good? Those tasks will include but are not limited to assembly and fabrication of trim dies, repair/maintenance of existing tools, assist with equipment and tool fabrication/upgrades as needed. Will work from prints and verbal instructions to machine tight tolerance tooling. Normal Duties: Assemble new tooling and dies from machined subcomponents. Sharpen and troubleshoot trim tools to make sure they meet print requirements and cut consistently. Following safe work practices, perform tight tolerance machining of tools using typical toolroom equipment such as lathes, mills and surface grinders. Maintain associated paperwork to support quality systems. Maintain reasonable stocks of tool steels and die sets to support business activities. Work with Engineering to design and develop tooling and equipment upgrades to reduce costs, improve productivity or part manufacturability. May be required to work with outside vendors and contractors. May be required to assist with equipment installations and upgrades. Other duties as assigned. Normal Working Conditions: Will be exposed to oils, coolants, greases, maintenance and production chemicals.
