**Job Description:**

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Civil Transportation Planning Engineer I** to join our team! In this role you will get to **contribute to civil planning and engineering for various transportation projects in San Diego city and county.**

**What You'll Be Doing:**

+ Support senior level engineers in performing traffic and transportation planning studies.Build and utilize computer models to evaluate travel patterns and traffic flow characteristics on freeways and arterials.

+ Develop signal timing plans, signing and striping, mitigations measures, and traffic management plans.

+ Perform spatial analysis, prepare calculations using complex spreadsheets, and use various software packages to determine a wide variety of performance measures.

+ Document findings in accordance with federal, state and local reporting requirements

**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**

+ 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.Three years or more civil engineering experience.

+ Master's Degree is desirable, but not required.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong Microsoft Excel skills (proficiency using formulas, pivot tables, etc.)

+ Any experience with traffic engineering / planning is a plus

**What Desired Skills You'll Bring:**

+ Proficiency in Highway Capacity Software (HCS).

+ Familiarity with or exposure to Synchro/SimTraffic.

+ Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software such as ESRI ArcGIS.

+ Basic programming experience in a high-level scripting language such as Python.

+ Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.

This Role
This role reports to the Cask & Transport Manager based at our Kilmalid site. In this role you will coordinate, administer, and report on all casks. The wood planning activities cover all operational areas (internal & external) which store, repair or fill casks. In addition, you will be responsible for transport planning activities covering all cask and spirit movements within the Production area.

Your Unique Contribution
Key Responsibilities Include:
Monitor and control empty cask stocks at storage areas and cooperages in line with Company Wood Policy.Plan and co-ordinate empty cask supplies from storage, imports, dumping and cooperages to meet filling programme.Plan and co-ordinate all pallet deliveries to meet filling demand and inter-company repayments.Monitor weekly stock levels of metal tags, plastic and poplar bungs, cask-end paint, plywood for sales deliveries and sundry coopering items. Arrange to re-order fresh supplies in a timely manner to meet production targets.In conjunction with the Cask and Transport Manager, schedule and administer new cask purchases and transportation activities.Arrange disposal of sale quality stock and raise appropriate invoices on E1.Process promptly and accurately through E1, receipt invoice data for all deliveries ex cooperage, purchase and transportation to comply with the accounts payable 3-way matching system for customer invoicing and arrange to close purchase orders when exhausted.Assist Empty Wood Specialist and coopers with SMP, cask segregation and stock queries.Carry out cask stock audits across all operational areas.From the 5 week production plan, project weekly closing stocks for wood, pallets and metal tags to assist with short and medium term planning.Manage bung, metal tag, pallet and wood accounts processed through E1 on a daily and monthly basis and ensure that spend does not exceed budget.Provide ad-hoc management analysis and reports as required.Compile the monthly wood management report to reflect current month and cumulative fiscal data.Can demonstrate a flexible approach to working practices and with suitable training provide cover in the wider Spirit Quality / Planning function.Assist in preparation of annual transport budgets Process transport invoices from initiating purchases orders to receipting monthly accounts.Monitor progress of weekly operational plans and assist planners in optimising transport resource allocated to contract.Assist Wood and Transport Planner in compiling reports as required.Attend quarterly review meetings with main Transport contractor.

Your Blend of Talent

· At least 5 years relevant Whisky Industry experience
· Computer literate with the ability to drive major IT developments for Inventory management
· Working knowledge of all aspects of Scotch Whisky production
· Pragmatic approach and strong working relationship with Finance, MIS, Spirit Supply, Blending, and Operations
· Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and presentation skills
· Works to deadlines
· Can maintain confidentiality
· Can work independently and as part of the team
· Must be p.c. literate with strong working knowledge of at least some of the following: MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, Power Bi/ SMP/ E1/ OBI

· Knowledge of the operating methods used by modern road haulage contractors.
