Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms. Perform any basic forming activity and know all accessories to the forming system. Responsible for proper materials and methods for patching and rubbing of walls. Properly perform concrete flatwork preparation, forming, placement, curing and saw cutting. Responsible for all types of site concrete activities including paving, sidewalks, curbs footings, foundations and retaining walls, etc. Know use of advanced concrete construction materials, fasteners, and equipment. Ability to layout footings, piers, walls, stairs, sidewalks. Responsible for proper use of all personal protective equipment for crew. Supervisory Responsibilities Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these concrete trade. Also directly supervises various non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include evaluating new hires, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Relays hand-signals, directs traffic, drives and operates trucks and equipment as assigned, and keeps trucks and work area clear and orderly. Trains new employees on proper procedures. Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking street or driveways. Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect employees as well as the public. Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue. Assumes responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment. Requests repair or replacement of equipment when necessary. Works around hazardous equipment and in close proximity to energized power lines.     Job Description: A Tree Trimmer's primary responsibility is to perform tree trimming, clearing, & removal of trees along electric power lines and right of ways. A Tree Trimmer climbs trees to reach branches interfering with electric lines while using climbing equipment. A Tree Trimmer must have knowledge of chainsaw safety, and roping & rigging techniques. A Tree Trimmer also operates chain saws, pruners, brush chipper and may be called upon to operate an aerial lift device (bucket truck.) A skilled Tree Climber/Trimmer should have at least 6 months' verifiable experience in a utility line clearance and/or residential tree clearance setting. A Valid Driver License and/or CDL License is Preferred. We also specialize in Vegetation Management so a pesticide license would be beneficial, but it's not mandatory. Work Schedule: 4 -10 HR days, either; Monday thru Thursday or Tuesday thru Friday with periods of mandatory overtime. Employees are also required to work emergency storm duty as need arises.
