The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound lab, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). What you will do Uses imaging equipment and soundwaves to form images for diagnosis. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice. Educates patients/families regarding the procedure to be performed. Explains the procedure and independently performs ultrasound exams on patients following established protocols. Evaluates images for quality. Interprets what image is captured. Presents images and preliminary findings to the physician. Maintains the ultrasound equipment and sterilizes the room. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
