At the end of each study room should be cleaned and ready for the next patient. Equipment is cleaned regularly with documentation of a minimum of 12 equipment cleanings per year Completes yearly-required competency assessments as set by the Ultrasound Manager Demonstrates competency in the use of RIS/HIS and telephone systems appropriate for their job responsibilities Assist the Interventional Nurse and Radiologist in preparing for invasive procedures, by setting up trays using sterile techniques, gathering necessary supplies, assisting during procedures and clean up using Universal Precautions and proper sharps disposal. The Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self -motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. This includes providing Ultrasound services on weekends, holidays, and call as scheduled. Job Duties Performs high quality Transthoracic and Stress Echocardiography imaging studies per protocol on adult and geriatric patient population including the knowledge of transducer selection, equipment knobology for optimal image, and the knowledge/ability to perform all measurements, per protocol.
