We are currently seeking a full-time Scheduler to join our team. The incumbent will produce two dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs by performing the following duties.
Duties
Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination.
Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination.
Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test.
Keys test data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results.
Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
Starts equipment which produces images of internal organs and records diagnostic data on magnetic tape, computer disk, strip printout, or film.
Photographs images of organs shown on display module, or removes strip printout from equipment, to obtain permanent record of internal examination.
Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination.

The UltrasoundTechnologist is responsible for but not limited to:
Performing all requested ultrasonographic exams in accordance with established policy and as per established hours of availability;
Reviewing all patient requests for diagnostic procedures as to designated anatomical part and clinical history;

Ensures that the ultrasound equipment is in excellent operational condition as per established Quality Control procedures; and

Potential schedules include:

Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
Certified by ARDMS in Abdomen or OBGYN or ARRT RT(S) with RVT/ RVS preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years work experience as UltrasoundTechnologist who can perform all aspects of Sonography with expertise in General, Breast, Vascular, small parts and procedures.
Knowledge of all Ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, Venous Insufficiencies, Arterial Duplex (Upper/Lower Exts), PVR/Segmental/ABI (Upper/Lower Exts), Pre-op Vein Mapping (Upper/Lower Exts), Dialysis access evaluation and Abdominal duplex exams.
American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required prior to the start of employment.
Computer proficiency and current overview and knowledge of all operations with Ultrasound, including all diagnostic medical ultrasound systems are required.
Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision and demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and schedule.

Responsibilities
Perform quality breast ultrasound exams with the appropriate technical skills and according to the established procedure protocols
Provide for appropriate patient care, safety, education, and exceptional customer service experience during procedures
Maintain appropriate documentation of patient records to meet operating standards, corporate compliance practices, and/or regulatory and accreditation requirements
Present appropriate Imaging and technical findings of ultrasound scans to the to the Breast Radiologist
Collaborate/participate in department related projects and/or teams focused on improvement opportunities as needed
Education/Accredited Programs
Successful completion of an accredited ultrasoundtechnologist program
Experience/Abilities
One year of breast sonography experience preferred
Experience working in a hospital environment highly preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
ARDMS registered or registry eligible for breast boards. Eligible candidates must obtain certification within one year of hire date.
CPR Certified
Skills/Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate to patients about the procedures and educate patients about the role of preventative breast health
Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written and/or verbal instructions
Must always maintain patient-first focus and exhibit outstanding customer service skills
Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $37.07 to $55.61 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
