The Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Insurance Company has an opening for an excess and surplus lines underwritingassistant to support underwriters in all aspects of new business entry, renewal and post-issuance transactions.
The pay for this position is $20.00 hourly. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
* process new business, renewals, and post bind transactions in our policy administration system and broker management system
* assistunderwriters through all phases of the account from initial data collection to ongoing service and account maintenance
* provide backup support to underwriters and other underwritingassistants
* deliver timely customer service to our agency partners
* order and screen miscellaneous reports as needed in the underwriting process
* support with state compliance as needed
* other clerical tasks as needed in support of the underwriter
* complete a work schedule of 8:00 am - 4:45 pm
Be equipped with:
* excellent interpersonal communication skills
* ability to prioritize and organize work
* proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* ability in carrying out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form

Bring education or experience from:
* AINS certification is preferred, but completion within three years of start date if selected for the position is also acceptable

The Opportunity:
The Associate Underwriter is responsible for evaluating individual account risk in relation to coverage granted to price and set terms for accounts that will balance written premium, rate, and profitability goals. This position will support management and coworkers with projects through leadership, teamwork, training, and implementation.
In This Role You Will Execute On:
Managing an assigned book of business underwriting risk and pricing for partner Agents.
Reviewing commercial coverage forms, rating plans and guidelines.
Ensuring adequate pricing through identification of exposures, proper classifications, accuracy of information while adhering to underwriting standards with little oversight.
Completing quotes, policies and endorsements.
Responding to questions on reviews and responses from agents as well as clients in a timely manner.
Achieving premium, rate and profitability goals with in assigned book of business.
Identifying cross sell opportunity with additional or complimentary coverage options.
Provide backup support for other team members in times of absence.
In This Role You Will Need:
0-3 years of insurance underwriting experience
Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing
Flexibility and creativity for developing innovative and customized business solutions
Exceptional relationship development and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance diverse and competing workloads
Ability to work well with others in solution of mutual problems; respect the opinions, abilities, and contributions of others; cooperative and open minded in working with others.
