Principle Accountabilities:

Serve as business partner to BU personnel and assist in providing strategic and tactical direction for the long-term financial success of the unit. Provide early warning on all business trends that affect the performance of the unit related to Engineering and Administrative spend - including P&L, balance sheet, and operational issues, while identifying probable causes and solutions.
3. Oversee, manage and consolidate all financial reporting and accounting functions at the BU level. Accountable for timely and accurate month-end closing, forecasting, quoting, working capital, and fixed asset management.
4. Coordinate the annual budget and long-range planning (LRP) process in a participative and strategic fashion leads to objective and reasonable Engineering and Administrative spending.
5. Implement proper cost center reporting for Functional department reporting. Communicates and schedules regular reviews of Functional departments vs. budget/forecast and assists in the identification and implementation of corrective actions to secure target achievements.
6. Implement clear and comprehensive Department controlling structure in SAP - including work to establish or improve existing systems/processes.
8. Will Act as SOX Coordinator for Business Unit, ensuring an effective internal control environment with polices/procedures that comply with US GAAP, ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) and Company Policy requirements.
9. Develop strong collaborative relationships within the BU related to peers in Operations and Engineering to drive strong communication and financial reporting.
10. Effectively manage, evaluate, monitor and develop employees under your influence to drive maximum operational performance and further employee career advancement. Seek to be a net exporter of finance talent.
11. Must remain objective and unbiased.

Maintain ownership of financial controls and reporting: annual plans, capital projects and approvals, timely and accurate preparation of required financial reports, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processes, internal / external audit ownership, inventories and reconciliation of results, direct standard cost work-up.

Manage and lead the accounting team.

Support Operations and the organization to achieve unit and Divisional goals and objectives, including the annual operating plan, long range strategic plan, capital investments.

Provide operational analysis to identify problems/opportunities, recommend solutions and facilitate accurate decisions and strategies. Examples include 80/20 analysis, price/cost analysis, etc.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information in compliance with ITW policies and GAAP.

Develop and maintain financial reporting processes with strong internal controls that adhere to ITW policies and exceed audit requirements

Work with the team to lead and develop accurate monthly Outlooks utilizing 80/20 based on analytics.

Analyze actual performance to Outlooks, Annual Plan and prior year as needed. Emphasis on telling the story behind the numbers and identifying opportunities.

Work with Strategic Sourcing, Sales, and the Commercial Finance teams to effectively manage our price/cost risk and prepare accurate outlook and actual estimates.

Facilitate and complete monthly close requirements including managing and reviewing the accounting staff's work.

Coordinate internal and external audits as well as other corporate requests.

Perform/oversee annual standard cost setting process and annual physical inventory.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Principal Function :

The Unit Controller takes direct responsibility for the financial affairs of the unit by overseeing cash management and credit transactions, general ledger entries, tax and compliance, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, as well as financial analysis and reporting.

With guidance from the Corporate Office and under direction of the Regional Controller, the Unit Controller will work in close partnership with the General Manager and will play a key leadership role in running an efficient, effective, and profitable food and beverage operation.

The Unit Controller will partner with the operations team and other department heads to ensure the development, implementation and enforcement of Sodexo Live!'s standards for accuracy, efficiency, quality and financial performance.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Maximize Sodexo Live!'s revenue and operational excellence through implementation and oversight of systems and policies related to accounting and finance operations.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of the business unit by partnering with General Manager and key department heads in providing information, insight, analysis and recommendations to maximize revenues and profits.
• Contribute to goal of making Sodexo Live! #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.

Qualifications/Skills :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years' work experience as a Controller or in a lead accounting/finance role.
• Extensive experience with food and beverage operations, to include banquet, catering and/or concessions operations, bar procedures, sanitation requirements, alcohol compliance and regulatory issues affecting food service.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, to include Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare ad-hoc financial reports, statements and projections as needed
• Excellent knowledge of EXCEL/ACCESS and Microsoft Office Suite software, A/P, A/R, Payroll, G/L and cash handling; Lawson experience is highly desired.
• Proven ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.
• Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
• Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
• Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks/projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
• Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.

Other Requirements :

• Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
