Cambria unloader operator job description

This position's primary function is operation of an overhead crane used to move, load or unload slabs from a production line or place of storage. This position is responsible for understanding the operation and function of the queuing systems, along with the loading and unloading equipment for the assigned production line. This individual is also responsible for the full understanding and operation of a wireless scanner and inventory programs to identify slabs and navigate on hand inventories in designated areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Monitor and verify that the jot is operating properly Understand unload jot area and flow of slabs Move slabs from raw storage area to the Polish Line staging area Verify that slabs are correctly identified with ERP labels Remove slabs from the jot, relocate them to the raw slab storage and scan them into new location Perform Oracle batch selection in tandem with the functions of the handheld scanner Operate the crane while keeping pace with the production line Review information displayed on a raw and polished slab tag Perform end of shift reconciliation Navigate the raw and polished slab inventory system Coordinate and communicate the staging of slabs from the Material Handlers & Warehouse Conveyor tracking and plastic applicator sequencing Communicate the slab standard process with Quality Control Perform and document quality checks for slabs received and moved Communicate with appropriate departments and support groups when troubleshooting Keep work area clean and orderly Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Additional duties as assigned by management



Requirements



Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operations Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation Basic computer skills



Additional Requirements:



Preferred Qualifications:
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, Basic math skills, Mechanically inclined, Industrial work experience, High School Diploma or GED


Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs., Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks, Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria, Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises, Work in a non-climate controlled environment
