TEAM vein access technician job description
The Rope Access - NDE Technician is responsible for carrying out standard rope access operations under the direct supervision of an authorized Level 3 rope access supervisor. The technician will use Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of inspection, maintenance and other industrial work tasks while on ropes or in difficult access areas. Technicians must have the ability to perform work that is physically demanding, have good communication skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of new information. Responsibilities may also include rescue operations, technical reports and administrative tasks. Work hours, locations, shifts and nature of work assignments vary greatly and travel may be required.

SHIFT: Monday-Friday 9AM-5:30PM + mandatory OT on weekdays and Saturdays. (~55 hours/week). Weekend work on Saturday's ~1x/month.
CONTRACT TERMS: Contract to hire
The Accessioning Technician role is similar to a data entry job, combined with warehouse receiving duties, but in a lab setting. The Technicians receive specimens (like saliva & urine) into the clean room lab for testing. Abbott's clients are primarily government agencies, so the samples can be to determine if somebody gets a job; if they can get out of jail; if they get to keep custody of their kids, etc. Needless to say, the results can have major impacts on people's lives.
DUTIES:
• Abbott receives 2 FedEx truckloads of specimens/day.
• Accessioning Techs unload samples from the delivery trucks and load the samples into trays with their corresponding paperwork.
• The trays are then taken to the computer stations where they then key in the information into the computer, or scan it in.
• Each tray weighs about 20 lbs. and Accessioning Techs must be comfortable carrying the trays. When unloading the samples from the trucks, the clerks take the samples out of the FedEx packages they are delivered in. Sometimes when being transported, the specimens can leak if they were not ceiled properly. In these cases, the Accessioning Techs have to remove the specimen and the corresponding paperwork and put them on the drying rack so that the specimens can be entered and tested. They wear gloves to handle the leaked specimens, but it can have an unpleasant smell.
