Responsibilities
This role works alongside our care team in transporting our new patients to our facility from local hospital settings. This can include assistance getting in and out of transport vehicle with or without wheelchairs.
Pick up and deliver geriatric, frail and/or physically limited patients from designated hospitals in our specific wheelchair transport van
Maintain defensive driving.
Assist passengers in and out of vehicle, and operate ramps, lifts and securement devices.
Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for residents.
Keep vehicles clean inside and out, perform minor maintenance on vehicle, and schedule major and periodic vehicle maintenance as needed.
Maintain accurate, up to date records on trip sheets, fuel purchases, incident and accident reports, and vehicle condition reports.
Respond immediately to accident and medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers and rendering first aid until emergency providers arrive.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 25 years of age
Must have a valid driver's license in this state, with a clean driving record.
Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with residents of this nature. Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant a plus
Must present a professional appearance and reputation to represent Avamere and this facility.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Ability to read, write, and follow English oral and written.
Must possess an active CPR/BLS Certification and always maintain certification during employment.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Performs food preparation tasks as assigned.
Serve assigned food on trays at proper time, attractively, and at correct temperature. May help with food preparation.

Fills orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned.

Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and follow English oral and written directions, and pay close attention to details when setting up trays, using portion control, and sanitizing dishes and equipment
Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety at a level normally acquired through on-the-job training.
Requires maintaining high standards of personal hygiene while working, including frequent hand washing and securing hair away from the face.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective relationships with department workers and with other departments.
Skill and ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.

Description About the Department
The Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) provides all‑risk emergency services to the unincorporated areas of Alameda County (excluding Fairview), the cities of San Leandro, Dublin, Newark, Union City and Emeryville, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. With 28 fire stations and 34 companies serving a population of 394,000, the ACFD serves densely populated urban areas, waterways, industrialized centers, extensive urban interface, agricultural and wildland regions. Over 400 personnel and 100 Reserve Firefighters provide a wide variety of services to an ever expanding, dynamic and diverse community of roughly 508 square miles.

The Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) was formed on July 1, 1993, as a dependent special district with the Alameda County Board of Supervisors as its governing body. This consolidation brought together into a single jurisdiction the Castro Valley Fire Department, Eden Consolidated Fire Protection District and County Fire Patrol. Subsequently, the following communities have contracted with the ACFD:

Examination Components
The examination will consist of the following steps:
A review of candidates' applications and supplemental questionnaires to verify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess the minimum requirements for the class will move on to the next step in the examination process.
An assessment center, which will be weighted as 100% of the candidate's final examination score and may consist of:
A structured interview to assess background, knowledge, and experience (25%).
A simulation exercise to assess incident command skills (25%).
A written exercise to assess administrative, managerial, and written communication skills (25%).
Formal presentation to assess the ability to speak and interact with the public (25%).
CANDIDATES MUST ATTAIN A QUALIFYING RATING ON EACH PORTION OF THIS EXAMINATION. NOTE: Competitors must achieve at least 70% in each of the assessment test components individually listed above in order to obtain an overall qualifying score in the entire examination process. Competitors who score 70% or above in the entire process will have their names placed on the eligible list in order of final ranking.
