Responsibilities

OBXtek is staffing for Contract Instructor Weapon Systems Officers with the AC-130J MDS for the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) 492 Special Operation Wing (SOW) and operational units. AFSOC requires on-site contract instructor support for the 492 SOW training operations.

This position is located at Hurlburt Field, FL.

Responsibilities:


Provide instruction to meet USAF proficiency and qualification standards on Air Force-administered written examinations and flight evaluations for preparatory courses, initial qualification (basic, instrument, mission), transition (conversion, requalification), upgrade qualification (instructor, aircraft commander, special mission, evaluator, dual qualification of sensor operators), and key staff, continuation, refresher course, etc. training as required to meet the On-Time Graduation and annual student throughput requirements of this contract.
Ensure syllabus tasks are 100% complete within the time specified for the lesson.
Provide Scenario Development (simulator and flight) as required to meet the requirements of this contract.
Ensure completion of Aircrew Graduate Evaluation Program (AGEP) in accordance with (IAW) AFIs and training syllabi.
Support instruction of the Crew Resource Management Course (CRM).

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years AFSOC aircrew experience
  • Instructor candidates who were instructor certified in the proposed MDS and were current in U.S. military aircraft within the previous two years;
    OR
    Instructors formerly instructor certified (in the proposed U.S. military MDS aircraft) within the previous four (4) years if the following conditions are met at the time of hiring:
    the candidate performed eight (8) years of military operational flying duty; and at least two (2) years or 200 hours experience as an inflight instructor in the proposed MDS and associated mission sets

SAIC is looking for an experienced Weapons System Officer (U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F pilot) to provide advanced, high-level training in TACAIR employment to Carrier Strike Groups and other Naval forces. This position is for someone who is passionate about tactical training and ensuring our Naval Forces are fully trained and ready for deployment.
Place of performance is San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Fleet Concentration Areas.

**Job Description:**

+ Work is in support of high-end war games and integrated fleet training. Specific responsibilities include:

+ Development of advanced war game scenarios to support training to Navy warfare commanders and staffs in TACAIR employment, to include aircraft carrier operations, strike warfare (both land and maritime), integrated air defense, joint integration, and other TACAIR missions and planning factors

+ Facilitation of war game execution and accomplishment of training objectives by managing strike warfare scenario aspects, role-playing and coordinating TACAIR elements as required, and responding to training audience actions as needed to manage scenario play

+ Facilitation of student planning efforts in strike warfare aspects of war game scenarios and being prepared to provide academic briefs and other instruction in F/A-18 employment

+ Liaison with Navy and Joint centers of excellence, and provide SME support to program in latest USN doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures for TACAIR employment

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and ten (10) years or more experience.

+ Minimum active Interim Secret clearance required.

+ Experience in planning, implementation and execution of US Navy F/A-18E/F strike fighter tactics and employment.

+ Thorough understanding of employment, force planning, C2 and coordination requirements between aircraft, TACAIR components, warfare commanders, naval units, and joint components.

+ Thorough knowledge of F/A-18E/F capabilities and limitations, systems, and tactical employment

+ Experience developing comprehensive training scenarios

Desired Qualifications:

+ Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor designation

+ Experience with distributed training initiatives, such as Navy Fleet Synthetic Training or Navy Aviation Distributed Training

+ Experience with Live-Virtual-Constructive training initiatives
