SCOPE: Performs advanced welding tasks involving fit-up, weld, and repair metal and other weldable materials using a variety of techniques, with a specialization in 2G or 3G or 6G welding. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Certified to weld in all positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead, and fixed 45-degree angle), including complex welding that requires a high degree of skill and precision. * Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and diagrams to determine appropriate welding processes and sequences. * Prepares materials and setups, and ensures all welds meet structural and safety standards. * Inspects completed welds for defects and ensures adherence to codes and industry regulations (such as third-party testing, NDT, AWS, and 100 standards). * Operates and maintains welding equipment and automated systems. May work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys as required by project specifications. * Adheres strictly to safety procedures for working in hazardous environments and may assist in training other welders. * May require 0-1 year of certified welding work experience and/or proven qualifications of skillset. * OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements. Perform aluminum welding (primarily GMAW welding) to fabricate and repair ladders, handrails, and safety cages.

JOB DUTIES:
* Preheats and cleans aluminum, cuts, and fits component parts of manufacturing jobs in preparation for welding.
* Performs the duties of cutting aluminum tubing and welding various types of sign structures and any other aluminum manufacturing jobs.
* Fabricates special safety devices for construction and maintenance equipment.
* Manufactures items such as eye bolts, braces, angle brackets, and similar items.
* Assists in loading completed sign structures and unloading and placing shipments of incoming aluminum in racks.
* Maintains and makes minor repairs to welding equipment.
* Performs related work as required.
* Weld steel, if required
* Assist in outfitting of new equipment (IE: installing wires, harness, lights, pumps, toolboxes, hoses, hose reels, light bars, back racks, water tanks.
* Heavy equipment experience
* Operation of metal cutting/fabrication machines, drill presses, saws, punches, etc.
* Operates and maintains other equipment for state lands management purposes such as road graders, dump trucks, loaders, etc.
* Performs maintenance and construction activities on fixed facilities and equipment. Makes purchases of materials as needed.
* Performs other related work as assigned.

Job Duties of the Welder:
Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms and parts using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements.
Interpret blueprints and drawings to produce specific weldments.
Skills and Qualifications of the Welder:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Welding certification preferred
Must be able to read a tape measure and interpret basic blueprints/drawings.
Must have the capability to build basic weldments.
Experience using: frame sq, slide sq, clamps, wrenches, angle & die grinder, hog grinder, air grinder, air sander, ratchets, impacts, pipe wrap, chalk lines, punches, plumb bob, Acetylene/propane torch and plasma.
Basic computer knowledge

A day in the life of a Welder at REV:
* Perform all GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG welding procedures including machine settings, bottles, and necessary fittings
* Welding Aluminum and set up and maintaining welding machine (tip, liner, changes, etc.) and welding vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
* Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter.
* Welding of aluminum where required
* Grind and clean areas where required
* Stay current in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed
* Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures
Required education, skills, and experience to be successful:
* Preferred 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment
* Preferred high school diploma or GED-
* Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements
* Must read blueprints, and engineering drawings and perform shop math to layout, fabricate and weld various parts and assemblies
* Must process knowledge and experience in GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIGwelding machine

Fitters employed at Veritas Steel's Palatka location are responsible for performing all fitting operations, primarily including grinding operations; along with repairs and miscellaneous tasks assigned. They must be able to meet high production demands promptly and complete high-quality work with expertise. Fitters must also adhere to company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
By using proper safety, building some of the most iconic bridge projects in America
Work alongside and learn from some of the most skilled steel fitters in the country
Drill, install high-strength bolts, and grind steel components
Produce fillet and groove welds using the SMAW, SAW, and FCAW processes
Maintain a clean, organized work area
Participate in continual improvement activities
Read and interpret blueprints
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High School diploma or GED
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
Need to be able to read metric tapes
Flexibility is necessary to work with others in a variety of circumstances and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods
Must be able to work with a wide variety of individuals in the workplace
