+ In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal.

Looking for an opportunity to become a welder, but do not have training? This is the opportunity for you! As a Fabrication Specialist Trainee, you will be trained to set up, operate and adjust manual and/or automatic machines to perform welding operations in all positions.
Starting pay up to $28.00/hour. Welders will receive incremental increases for every 26 weeks of active work, with an opportunity to earn up to $30.10/hour.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Perform manual finish welding operations on plain and alloy steels in all positions
* Operate robotic welding equipment
* Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect free operations
* Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging

* Use of jib and overhead crane to manually position work pieces
Required Qualifications:

Job Description
The Kelly Group is seeking a Fitter/Welder for its Decatur, Illinois, location and work in the surrounding area. Candidates should own their own hand tools and have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working with process pipe, preferably in the grain industry.
This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:
Install piping systems by measuring, cutting, bending, shaping, threading, soldering and gluing using hand tools and equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, process flow diagrams, sketches and product specifications
Generate materials lists by selecting types and sizes of pipes, supports and related materials according to job specifications, drawings or isometrics
Pass a bend test on a 2-inch schedule 160 carbon steel pipe in 6G position using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, TIG, Heliarc) root and hot pass and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW, stick) fill and cap to become certified
Complete work using safe work practices
Other preferred qualifications sought include:
OSHA 10-hour or equivalent training
Industrial construction experience
Familiarity with AWS, ASME and other welding codes and practices
Ability to travel, requiring staying out of town for multiple weeks at a time

Position Overview:
The Pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, and ensure smooth operation of those systems. The Pipefitter will be responsible for cutting, assembling, installing pipes, and will operate tools and machines to grind, mill, and shape raw materials into a specified form, then assemble the final product.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cuts or bores holes prior to project.
Installs various types of pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
Assist with jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the hth companies' Safety Program.
