As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for conducting all mechanical troubleshooting and repairs. Your tasks will include inspecting trucks, addressing any issues reported by drivers, and focusing primarily on mechanical failures. You will be expected to maintain a working knowledge and moderate skill proficiency in various vehicle components and systems, performing both preventative and repair maintenance functions on-site and on the road.
**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
+ Inspect trucks and address issues reported by drivers.
+ Focus on mechanical failures with some electrical troubleshooting handled by more experienced technicians.
+ Maintain a working knowledge and skill proficiency in vehicle components and systems.
+ Perform preventative and repair maintenance functions.
+ Repair and maintain chassis components, refuse bodies including control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drive train, and steering systems.
+ Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication.
+ Provide road service when necessary to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
+ Identify malfunctions using various electronic tools.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1-5 years of diesel mechanic/repair experience (6 months if directly experienced in Diesel Engines)
+ Clean driving record
+ Experience with heavy-duty class 7-8 trucks or 1-5 light-duty trucks
+ Engine repair or air brake repair
+ Valid driver's license
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ ASE Certifications (T1-T8)
+ Master Diesel
+ Suspension experience

Can (or are willing to learn how to) operate and maintain sewing machines
