NATURE AND SCOPE: Under the general direction of the Chief Experience Officer, the Director of Youth and Adult Sports will provide leadership for the development and operations of the sports programs for the Association. The Youth and Adult Sports Program Director will be responsible for implementing and delivering the Strategic Plan for sports, organization-wide standards, driving superior program quality and consistency throughout sports programs. RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to): Ensure all sports programs enhance membership, increase program enrollments, and enhance the member/participant sport experience. Direct oversight of funding that directly supports Association sports programs. Provide a strong vision with innovation and a mindset that views the member experience through programs as the Y's most important “product”. Directly report to funders and provide supervision of major grants - state, federal and private. Develop, implement, and scale signature Y sports programs across the Metro Atlanta association. Develop and refine new youth and adult sports programming. Collaborate with the Association Directors to grow and enhance branch level sports enrollment and engagement. Develop and maintain partnerships with school districts, colleges, universities, organizations, and cities across the Metro Atlanta Association. Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program growth, program impact and safety for the YMCA. Design practices, processes, and procedures for strong sport programming, including volunteers/coaches, referees/officials and development of new programming. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals and reviews and evaluate staff performance. Measure progress against strategic goals and ensure continuous improvement. Ensure that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed. Develop and control department budgets related to the position so that resources are developed to top priorities and strategic objectives. Establish new activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Foster a climate of innovation. Collaborate with the Association key departments to lead, coordinate and support implementation of key initiatives related to marketing, social media and communications, human resources, and financial development. Respond to all members and community inquiries and complaints promptly. Conduct pilots for new programs; develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the staff team. Lead assigned aspects of the fund-raising campaign. Support the Association's multiple departments, branch staff teams, and leadership to sports cabinet. The Wellness Coach I will oversee and manage the wellness area to ensure proper social distancing of members while they are utilizing the wellness area; following safety and risk guidelines that include maximum members allowed in designated areas of the facility. Nature and Scope: Under the direction of the Wellness Director, the Wellness Coach Level III will build personalized relationships that will support members who report that they have been exercising three or more days per week for 20 minutes or more for six months or longer. The Wellness Coach Level III will also support new or returning YMCA members who describe their present exercise level as none at all, infrequent, or only frequent for less than six months with the research-to-practice, stage-matched, exercise-support protocol called THE COACH APPROACH . The Wellness Coach Level III must perform program responsibilities in accordance with the policies, organizational competencies, mission, and values established by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. The Lifeguard creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supports the lifeguard in maintaining active surveillance of the pool area. Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, completes related reports as required. Knows, understands, and consistently supports safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area. Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others. Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state health department code. Supports equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed. Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving. Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum age of 15 Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration Current Lifeguard Certification Additional trainings as assigned within first week of work Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Under the direction of the Afterschool Program Director(s) and Site Director, the Site Counselor is responsible for leading assigned group in various planned activities to support the overall goals of the program. Planning and implementing activities for elementary age children that builds upon the skills needed to be successful in school. All decisions must be guided by Bright from the Start and the YMCA standards. This position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA, Branch Strategic Plan, Safety Protocols Including COVID, and Member Services Guidelines and Non-negotiables. Emphasis will be placed on member service, program knowledge, member/staff safety, and communication with members and staff. Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years of age. Must possess a minimum credential that meets BFTS requirement and HS Diploma or equivalent. Have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting. A licensed setting and supervision of staff in a school-age setting is a plus. Have current evidence of successful completion of biennial training in CPR/First Aid. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Have experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point, as well as, internet technology platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom. Must receive a cleared GCIC/NCIC and a cleared Fingerprint check through Bright From the Start before working. Annual GCIC checks will be conducted before each school year begin. Ongoing Responsibilities: Operate the program according to BFTS and YMCA policies and procedures. Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction to support program goals. Operate and deliver the program in compliance with YMCA and BFTS regulations. Discuss and report any concerns with the Site Director. Maintain personal file to remain in compliance with Bright From the Start and the YMCA. Compile attendance records and other pertinent information required by the program, as needed. Coordinate supply orders with the Site Director. Attend BFTS , YMCA and other trainings as scheduled. Maintain BFTS annual trainings hours. Consult with the Site Director on concerns related to student(s) development or behavior. Provide input into the planning and development of the program. Complete monthly self-assessments of the program, as needed. Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required by their school district. Perform other duties as related to the delivery of a quality afterschool program.
