To identify the best cities for web developers, we evaluated where job opportunities are plentiful and assessed salary levels. The criteria we used, sourced from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment Statistics, included:
- Location quotient: This measures the concentration of web developer jobs in a given city.
- Average annual salary.
- Average starting salary for entry-level positions.
We adjusted salary figures to account for the cost of living in each state, allowing for a fair comparison across different regions.
