Hearing Requirements: thresholds no greater than 25 dB without hearing aids. Incident Command System classes required before being cleared to respond to calls: ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800. Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) courses, ICS 100 and IS 700 within ninety (90) days of hire and ICS 200 and IS 800 within one (1) year of hire. Blood Borne Pathogens & Hazardous Materials courses required before you can respond to a call. Valid Alaska driver's license required with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to successfully complete a valid pre-employment drug screen, physical exam and background check. Under direct supervision functions at the task level to accomplish tactical objectives. Pulls and advances attack hose lines. Conducts searches for victims in burning buildings. Performs ventilation, forcible entry, property conservation, and other assigned tasks on fire and emergency scenes. Inspects and cares for assigned personal protective equipment, fire apparatus and associated equipment. Maintains fire stations for cleanliness and readiness. When staffing the EOC performs the functions assigned by the Event Commander to efficiently and effectively respond and manage an incident. Performs related work as required.

Assist with major equipment and material selection, and construction specifications. Use computer assisted engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit) and equipment to develop project drawings. Applies design standards and procedures to implement basic design. Ensure that assigned activities and operations comply with applicable codes and regulations. Assist with the preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, account codes, budgets and change orders. Update estimates, schedules, reports, drawings and documents based on revisions and changes to the project. Assist with preparation of project reports including obtaining historical data and information. Conduct quality checks of databases, documents and reports, to verify accuracy of data, information, and calculations. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. Assist in preparing, maintaining and filing of departmental policies, procedures, and manuals. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and company information. Qualifications College sophomore level or higher with degree declared in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Project Management. Intermediate skillset with MS Word processing software and MS Excel spreadsheet software. Some exposure to computer aided drafting and engineering software preferred. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside. Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere. Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment. Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
