Position Overview
C&S is seeking Project Designer / Architect with strong design, technical and creative skills to provide architecturaldesign and project management services. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of professional experience, licensure preferred but not required, professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
In this role, you will work independently on architecturaldesign projects and often coordinate project design efforts. In addition, you direct planning and creative-design concepts for projects, prepare presentation and design drawings and details.

Construction Administration & Evaluation
Participate in on-site construction administration, including meetings with clients, contractors, and building officials.
Support punch lists, RFIs, and project closeout activities under the supervision of an Architect.
Skills/Education/Experience
5-10 years of substantial experience developing architectural details and providing planning and design support during design development.
Experience gained through full-time employment under the supervision of a licensed Architect or Interior Designer.
Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program (Associate's, Bachelor of Architecture, or Master of Architecture).
Architectural licensure preferred.

Summary

Job Description
We are currently hiring a Project Architect in our Architectural division at our Buffalo, NY office. The Project Architect will support our Essential Facilities and Municipal Design Studio. The studio is an offset division from LaBella's Municipal Group. The Essential Facilities Design Studio specializes in architectural projects for fire stations, police stations, SWAT Training, armories, 911 Centers, fire and police training centers, department of public works, ambulance centers, mercy flight hangers, and other miscellaneous municipal work for local and County municipalities.
The Architectural Division at LaBella provides comprehensive planning and design services for a wide variety of markets, including Municipal, State, Federal, Healthcare, K-12 and Higher Education, Residential, and Commercial projects.
The overall expectations of the Project Architect position are to work with large project teams, including in-house and outside subconsultants, to ensure that all aspects of the project are being met and completed. An individual in this position needs to be capable of delegating aspects of work to the Project Technician and coordinating with all other disciplines to successfully deliver high quality, coordinated projects.
The Project Architect will assist the Project Manager with client meetings, design team meetings, and construction administration. In addition, the Project Architect must be motivated and capable of performing all duties with minimal guidance.
A successful candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to lead, communicate, coordinate, and motivate. A successful candidate will also possess strong interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills, as well as contribute to a positive work environment. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
Registered Architect in the state of New York (desirable but not required)
8+ years of work experience under a licensed architect
Prior experience designing projects for Essential Facilities and public works projects is preferred.
Have thorough knowledge and understanding of New York State building codes
Strong technical design, specification writing and construction document skills
Well-developed project design and planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent graphic presentation skills
Revit BIM Modeling experience
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year

We are currently seeking a full-time Project Architect in our Buffalo, NY office. This position will work specifically with our Housing Studio, centered in multi-unit, multi use projects, including Affordable Housing, Senior Living, Multi-Family Market Rate Apartment Buildings, and Hospitality.
Duties:
Run internal architectural team to include disseminating work to the most basic levels to projects totaling up to and including approximately $10M.
Coordinate with engineering disciplines to include structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering, along with the services of other outside consultants as required.
Communicate the project design to the client/owner.
Provide the design for the project, coordinate with design group, manage architecturaldesign process, assist Principal-In-Charge and Project Designers to make sure design concept is brought through to completion, develop a design process and be responsible for implementation, updating and accomplishment.
Oversee creation of graphic presentation to assist in conveyance of design concept, either by creating the graphic personally or coordinating the completion of the graphic presentation.
Meet with client on a regular basis, facilitate the meeting, take notes, and coordinate the completion of tasks decided on at the meeting.
Direct Technical Coordinator regarding design and technical project requirements.
Review and understand which codes and regulations are applicable to the project.
Assist Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager during marketing and sales activities.
Have a familiarity with firm-client contract or agreement for the design and delivery of the project and the client's objectives and expectations.
Review project scope, client's RFP and SWBR's proposal.
Communicate and meet with project team to disseminate the necessary information to complete their tasks.
Review with Project Manager regularly the budgeted fee and financial performance reports and adjust as necessary to stay within budget.
Participate in necessary meetings with the project team to help maintain project process and disseminate latest information to project team.
Review employee performance with respect to the project expectations and goals.
90% office setting, 10% active construction site visits.
Required Skills:
Has a 4-year or 5-year degree from an accredited program in Architecture; an advanced degree in this field is preferred
NYS license to practice architecture is required along with a minimum of 5-10 years of related architectural experience. Experience in construction techniques and how buildings are put together is required. 3-5 years of experience with multi-unit Housing preferred.
Has previous professional experience - and is proficient in - using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Is a proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Individual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard.
Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
Base Salary Information: $75,681 - $92,148

Summary

Responsibilities
• Work with Project Engineer, develop 3D models of designed products and 2D shop drawings for submittal to customer.
• Utilize CAD software tools for 3D modeling and 2D detailing to create high quality and error free project specific product details for production purposes and customer use in the field.
