Manufacturing Assembler
Assembler job in Louisville, KY
Working as a team, you will use simple hand tools to build our foodservice equipment. It probably isn t what you d imagine a manufacturer is like. We aren t like an automotive manufacturer that you are standing along a conveyer belt assembly line putting the same screw in every day. That would kind of suck, so we use workstations to allow you to do multiple things and build in sub-assemblies. You may be building doors, assembling panels, or maybe you are one of two people running wires. No experience needed, as we ll train you.
Nothing that you will be doing is insanely heavy, but there will be some lifting, pushing, and pulling required. We have tools to help move most large or heavy parts. While you are working, there is a high likelihood that you ll hear arguing between coworkers on UK vs Louisville, but that s because the people we work with are like family. We encourage a team atmosphere and like to have fun at work. We need to get the job done, but we also really want to have a place that people like working at. Oh, one last thing our regular schedule runs Mon-Thurs. So, unless we are swamped and working OT, you can plan to have off Fri-Sun.
Work Environment
Very casual clothes permitted (shorts, t-shirt, and sneakers are no problem).
You can listen to music on your headphones at work (as long as it can be done safely).
We are one of the few manufacturing plants in Louisville with AC and heating.
Can you believe that so many places won t allow you to have your cell phone with you at work? Not us. While we don t want you watching Netflix at work, we understand the importance of having your phone available.
Some positions may include an opportunity to sit most of the day while you work. Take a look at specific positions available to see which ones apply.
Benefits
3-day weekend (most workweeks are Mon-Thurs)
Medical/dental/ vision available for all employees that average at least 30hrs weekly
Paid sick time, vacation days, and holidays
Retirement (401K) program with company match
Weekly pay (not every other week)
Why Winston
We re a small enough company where we like to know everyone s name, but big enough that we get to invest back into the company and our people.
You may not have heard of us, but the chances are you ve eaten something that was prepared in our foodservice equipment. We sell to a ton of restaurant chains (like McD, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc.), but are also used by some of the top chefs in the world.
We are of the mindset that if we have to spend so much time at work, we really should enjoy what we are doing.
