Responsibilities and Duties • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written / verbal instructions or procedures to accurately assemble products. • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified • Must be able to measure and layout component locations or holes using a ruler, level and or square. • Utilize hand-held tools such as a cordless screw gun, drills, power saws, grinders, etc. • Cutout holes for components within enclosure using punches, drills and or saws. • Be proficient in the use of common hand tools to prepare and assemble components. • Possess a mechanical aptitude, do light fabrication, bolting, caulking, bending, squaring and leveling. • Maintain inventory and organization of tools being used within assigned work area. • Assemble equipment and products according to engineering specifications and or changes. • Perform all work in accordance with outlined quality standards and established safety procedures • Maintain a clean and safe work area Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED • Must be able to read a ruler • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. • Mechanical assembly experience is required or previous experience in the Construction Field. • Basic reading skills also must be able to follow verbal directions • Ability to perform work safely, accurately and thoroughly with a level of detail. • Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities and work ethic • Ability to work well as part of a team Physical Requirements Standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, color determination, near acuity, speaking, listening Work Environment This work position is required to work in a light manufacturing environment facility. What you will do • Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up. ∙ Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders. • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside. • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials. • Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns. ∙ Read shop drawings to understand stacking order when required. • Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed. • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process. • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety procedures; maintain a safe environment. • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance. ∙ Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized. • Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment. ∙ Monitor inventory as required by location management. • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results. • Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
