Parts must be aligned in a specific relationship to each other using jigs, fixtures and other holding devices. Parts may be secured by crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solder, cements or similar operations using hand tools, power tools or pneumatic tools. Component leads and wires must be neatly affixed to printed circuit boards. Connections and interconnections must be accomplished using terminals, connectors or contacts using soldering or bonding techniques. Assemblies and subassemblies must be mounted in product chassis, enclosures or panels using associated hardware such as knobs, switches, screws and rivets. Assembly steps may include potting, sanding, de-panelizing printed circuit boards, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, color-coding and serializing.
