- Update the company's Contracts Database when a contract is negotiated and signed: (1) abstracting relevant terms from contracts to provide key point information; (2) entering of data; (3) arranging notifications of expiration dates of agreements.

Your Role

As a member of our Borrower Success Team, you'll work directly with student loan borrowers to help them navigate Summer's tools and enroll in federal forgiveness and repayment programs. With training and hands-on experience, you'll quickly become an expert in the student loan landscape and serve as the first point of contact for our users.

This posting is for a remote, full-time, contractor role for up to 5 months—with the possibility of extension or permanent hiring in NYC based on performance and company needs.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Understanding Summer's product offerings and how they address borrowers' needs
  • Engaging with borrowers via email and live chat
  • Reviewing and submitting applications for federal loan programs
  • Proactively suggesting and implementing ideas and automations that can help scale the team
  • Bringing user feedback to life with the product, design, and engineering teams to create new features and offerings
  • Collaborating with the Borrower Success Team to achieve team and company growth goals in line with our social mission

This position will report to the Head of Borrower Success.

Recommended Experience

We are seeking teammates with at least one year of relevant work experience. Bachelor degree required. Experience with start-ups, finance (including financial aid or fintech), government programs, or customer support is a plus. Our company has secured significant new business and continued growth is anticipated over the next few years. + Acts as an agent of the company by interfacing directly with Commercial and Government customers.

+ Supports the Commercial Products line of business by preparation and submittal of quotations in response to customer requests.

+ Minimal negotiation required with customers.

+ Reviews and analyzes all contractual documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and corporate guidance.

+ Issues contract related documents and prepares shipping documents in accordance with contractual, legal, and corporate requirements.

+ Provides real-time updates to Program Management in all contractual matters, by updating logs and documents for distribution, in addition to participating in meetings.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

+ 3.0 GPA minimum

Preferred Additional Skills:

+ No prior experience with Government or Commercial contracts is required, however it is preferred.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Deadline oriented work ethic, and the ability to work successfully under pressure.
