Job Information - Union: Gas Welder NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1 HOURLY RATE: $59.41 - $60.41 Responsibilities Under general supervision lays out and performs all types of welding on gas piping and equipment, structural members, special devices and other general welding. Directs the work of one other Gas Welder or Fitter 1/C or lower grade directly assisting him; may also direct others performing such duties as equipment operation, digging and directing traffic. Performs any of the duties of a Gas Fitter 1/C. Performs other related or less skilled work as directed. Skills and Requirements Must have completed training for Gas Fitter 1/C, as described in Memorandum of Agreement governing Gas Department Training and Job Progression. Must have had prior welding experience through special training or previous job experience, and must pass a welder qualification test Qualified Welder must pass a requalifying test at least once each three years.
