The Underwriting Co-Op will be introduced to world of insurance through a variety of projects that will support the department in improving efficiencies around workflow. Specialty Granules co-owner/operator job description

Specialty Granules ("SGI") is committed to increase crop yield by supplying agricultural products for nutrient depleted soils, in particular soil amendment and plant nutrition products. SGI is seeking candidates for an Agriculture Co-op position to help build better agricultural products for increasing crop productivity and sustainable agriculture.

Co-Opportunity is a chance for you to learn about your chosen field in a real work environment with experienced SGI professionals. We offer full-time assignments to those students who are working toward undergraduate degrees in agronomy, soil science, crop science, or related disciplines.

Each assignment lasts a school term, and you may be invited to return to Specialty Granules LLC for additional terms while you continue your education. During your assignment, you will have a mentor - someone who will act as a coach to help you better understand both SGI and your work responsibilities. You will receive competitive pay, and a temporary living allowance.
As the Agriculture Co-Op you will be responsible for:

+ Supporting the process to evaluate the effect of agricultural products on carbon sequestration.

+ Understanding the effects of agricultural products on plant nutrition and soil health.

Requirements:

+ Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in agronomy, soil science, crop science, or related disciplines. All candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and at least junior standing (based on semester/credit hours)

+ Familiarity with the soil testing and plant growth protocols, including sample preparation, filtration, dilutions etc.

+ Proficient with office productivity tools: Microsoft Office Suite and Google (G-Suite)

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work either as part of a team and independently

+ Candidates must be a U.S citizen or a Permanent Resident

Travel Requirements: <5% domestically

Working Conditions: Office, travel, and outdoors/indoors within laboratory and growth chamber.
