Summary
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an Attorney to join our WorkersCompensation team in our growing Cincinnati office. The WorkersCompensation Attorney will handle and support a heavy and complex case-load of cases from pre-litigation through trial, and will benefit from working at the firm with the largest marketing budget in this space. Responsibilities
Day-to-day handling of cases from pre-litigation to resolution
Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions and memorandum
Guide clients through the case process
Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, court appearances and trial
Qualification
Law degree from a fully accredited law school
An active member in good standing with the OH State Bar Association

Responsible for assisting the Social Service team in assessment, intervention development and care planning of the psychosocial, emotional and behavioral needs and well-being of an assigned resident caseload. The Social Work Assistant collaborates with the assigned Social Worker to meet the residents' care needs, works to maximize the resident's independence and enhance the resident's quality of life to the extent possible. The Social Work Assistant is also responsible for supporting the Admission Department, as well as the residents and their responsible parties prior to admission and throughout the admission process.
JOB DUTIES:
Works with the social service team as a resident advocate in relation to residents' rights, issues, and processing of grievances.
Conduct tours of facility with residents and or families, groups and any interested prospect, upon request. Orients new residents to the facilities of Bethany Village and explains how the resident may avail himself/herself of the services in order to facilitate their adjustment.
Completes assessments and Minimum Data Set as scheduled or warranted, develops a social history, care plan and discharge plan, if warranted, on all residents of assigned caseload, under the supervision of the assigned Social Worker.
May review Advance Directive information with resident, family, or legal representative during the admission process and may document status in the electronic health record and updates the assigned Social Worker of any related requests or needs.
Maintains Social Service Progress Notes as warranted, ensuring that notes reflect correlation with care.
Maintains current documentation and meets the needs of assigned case load of Linden House residents.
Performs pre-admission evaluations as requested by the Admission Coordinator and/or the Manager of Social Services & Admissions.
Effectively communicate and interact with residents, the interdisciplinary staff, and family/legal representatives.
Upon request of the Admission Department Team Leader, conducts interviews with potential patients/sponsors to obtain information concerning living needs, medical history and finances, and provides information about Bethany Village services, admissions policies and procedures and fees.
Upon request of the Admission Department Team Leader, assesses information received and ethically advises potential patients/residents as to appropriate admissions to the Bethany Village Rehab Center and or Long-Term Care Nursing Center.
Presents, explains and executes admissions agreements, applications and other necessary admissions documents and coordinates admissions process for new patients/residents once approval for admission is obtained.
Attends Bethany Village/Graceworks Lutheran Services educational programs as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform basic assessment of clients' needs for medical, financial, and housing assistance and community resources.
Assess referred clients who are at moderate-high risk to reoffend and clients who have been judicially released and are on diversion or community control.
Interview clients, review clients' case files, speak with clients' attorney.
Request client records (including but not limited to court records, medical records, education records, jail/program records for jail time credit purposes).
Make necessary referrals and submit paperwork for eligibility determination by provider.
Research available resources at government entities, faith and community-based organizations, and other service providers.
Assist in securing medical benefits, housing, utility bill assistance, veterans assistance, and other assistance.
Identify availability and accessibility of appropriate and effective community interventions that will address the client's needs and coordinates community linkage services as appropriate for client and client's family while the client's case is pending disposition, until client has successfully completed diversion, or until client's community control ends.
Track client progress and outcomes.
Participate in planning of support systems for clients.
Maintain data on all current clients; maintain data on local social services; track client data; track court-ordered evaluation scheduling and communicate with stakeholders to monitor completion and records.
Input records and case notes into web-based case management system.
Prepare and maintain required reports and/or progress notes.
Maintain working relationships with attorneys, justice stakeholders, clients, families, and facilities.
Under the direction of State Assistant Public Defenders, prepare written and oral statements for in-court presentations as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Answer phone calls and forward calls to appropriate parties for response.
Coordinate attorney calls to clients and attorney visits to county jails and state prisons.
Assist with retrieving documents at county, state, and federal courts and other offices.
Provide administrative and clerical assistance.

Starting pay will be at Step 1 unless required by contract/legislation; candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for higher starting pay.
