Principal Responsibilities:
Coordinates/Directs Tooling Specialists.
Interact with Crew Supervisor, other team leaders, Engineering, and Manufacturing Specialists to assess requirements, develop plans, and provide needed materials and direction for the purpose of assisting tooling specialists to safely operate equipment and meet or exceed the requirements of manufacturing.
REPORTS TO Directly to the Tool Room Supervisor RESPONSIBILITIES ? Responsible for placement of tooling orders and related components, securing tooling quotes when necessary
Maintain a monthly physical inventory of tooling, reordering replacement tools as required, to support production
Supports the daily operations of the tool room equipment. Monitor on-going tool quality by maintaining contact with manufacturing (i.e. Crew Supervisors, Manufacturing Team Leaders and Utility Specialist.
Maintain Tool Life Tracking System ? Provide support to manufacturing operations by facilitating problem solving and continuous improvement
Fabricate and repair jigs, fixtures and Marposs verification/end of lot rods to support manufacturing as needed
Support and monitor Tool Receiving and inspection records. Perform inspection of product related tooling as needed
Support training as needed
Assure production readiness of Tool and Die
Support daily/monthly operator PMs

Job Summary

Responsibilities
Must be a subject matter expert in the following functions/activities (perform correctly and without assistance):
Able to Run Manual and CNC Machines at an expert Level.
Perform full setups on CNC mills and/or lathes from print or model - including indicating vises, fixtures, and part zeros.
Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and 3D models to execute machining strategies.
Adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and offsets to optimize quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot issues related to tooling, setup, and part accuracy independently.
Ensure in-process inspection and first article inspection compliance.
Collaborate with engineers and programmers to refine setups and improve processes.
What You Bring:
5+ years of CNC machining experience, with a strong emphasis on complex setups and first-run parts.
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and setup sheets.
Strong understanding of machine offsets, tool presetting, and basic G/M code.
Experience with multi-axis machining or live tooling.
Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Familiar with the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
Solid understanding of lean manufacturing
At least 5 years of relevant experience in machining manufacturing.

Requirements & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Summary/Objective The primary role of a CNC Machinist is to create machine parts and tools using precision computer equipment. CNC (computer numerical control) Machinists set up, adjust and maintain all equipment used in their daily job activities. They are also responsible for creating programming instructions for the parts they are manufacturing. Once the parts or tools have been produced, CNC Machinists inspect the finished products to ensure they meet all specifications.

Set-up and indicate in work pieces
Program using WorkNC software to operate 2D/3D CNC work centers and run CNC machines. Program with MasterCam for CNC lathe and Wire machines.
Create, modify, and edit programs for the CNC mills using MasterCam and WorkNC using the most efficient method to ensure quality parts meet customer expectations.
Use micrometers, calipers, and other appropriate measuring tools to verify accuracy
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece, the sequence of operations that will be used to machine the parts and the set-up requirements
Troubleshoot errors on the machine
Prioritize work and machines to maximize time
Maintain programming files in proper order structure

We are looking for a **CNC Lathe Operator **to join our Greenwood, IN facility for 2nd shift.
What You'll Do:
Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
Prepares tools needed for CNC lathe machining operations; Verifies that fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding milling and boring sizes, depths, angles, or other specifications
Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work-piece on machine; Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine magazines
Loads control media, such as tape, card, or disk, in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from database
Calculates and sets machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
