Qualified candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts. The CNC Operator Trainee will receive on-the-job training to learn how to set up and operate CNC machines under the supervision of experienced CNC operators. Ascentec Engineering is hiring experienced Machinists at our Dallas, Oregon location. Qualified candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts. The CNC Operator Trainee will receive on-the-job training to learn how to set up and operate CNC machines under the supervision of experienced CNC operators. The role is designed to help individuals gain the skills necessary to become a skilled CNC Operator, focusing on learning machine operation, quality control, and time management. The work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 3p,-11:30pm. Training will be on day shift, 7:30am-4pm for approximately 6-8 weeks. Extended hours and Saturdays may be required during our busiest times. Pay Rate: $17-21/hr, depending on experience. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in loading and unloading materials from the machine under guidance. Support experienced operators in inspecting machinery and learning adjustments. Shadow senior CNC operators to understand shop drawings and cut lists. Verify accuracy of machined workpieces under supervision. Learn to read work order instructions and processing charts. Maintain an organized work area, ensuring a safe work environment. Input necessary data for operations as directed by supervisors.
