Analyze and improve existing machining processes, setups, and programs for efficiency, repeatability, and superior quality.
Reduce cycle times and increase throughput while maintaining tight tolerances and high standards.
Collaborate with engineering and programming teams to enhance toolpaths, fixture design, and material handling.
Mentorship & Training
Train and mentor junior CNC technicians and operators.

Position Overview:

About the Opportunity:
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision aerospace components according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Location: Plainville, CT
This role will be onsite 100% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Set up CNC machine-Lathes by installing and adjusting fixtures, tools and workpieces.
Load raw materials into the machine and adjust machine controls to ensure proper alignment.
Interpret technical drawings, and blueprints to understand machining requirements.
Input and modify CNC programs using G-code as necessary to meet design specifications.
Operate machines to produce aerospace components with high precision.
Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and our measurement tools to ensure parts meet strict tolerance.
Complete required documentation, including quality reports and production logs.
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or repair needs promptly.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations, including AS9100 and ISO9000.
Work closely with engineers, quality control personnel, and other team members to resolve issues and optimize processes.
Provide feedback on production efficiency and suggest improvements.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience operating CNC machines, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
Familiarity with CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).
Knowledge of precision measurement tools and techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform detailed work.

Job Description
This position will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining ProtoTrak lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, proficiency in interpreting blueprints, and the ability to work independently to achieve production goals.

Verify final dimensions with print, by using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges.
Perform repair and preventative maintenance on shop equipment.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.

Additional Information
