Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join our 2nd shift team in the Barrels Department.
Base salary $23 - $26 DOE + 2nd shift premium. Full-time. Benefits eligible.
Essential Responsibilities
Manufacture extruder barrels to engineering specifications
Operate horizontal 4-axis CNC mills
Pull programs and load them into the NC
Set up tooling and perform tool touch-offs
Load and secure parts using appropriate fixturing
Follow G-code and M-code movements to monitor machining processes (no programming required)
Use indicators, edge finders, and probes to locate workpiece coordinates (WPC)
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Understand and apply knowledge of cutting tools, including carbides, inserts, drills, and endmills
Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators) to inspect parts
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience operating CNC horizontal mills, ideally 4-axis, is strongly preferred
Solid understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
Familiarity with G-code and M-code (reading, not programming)
Experience with carbide tooling, including indexing and replacing inserts
Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

As a member of the CNC Machinist team, you will contribute to operational excellence, foster collaboration across teams, and contribute to our organization's quality products and success. Here's how you'll make an impact:
Prepare raw materials, tooling, and machine set-up by reviewing blueprints and engineering plans and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Program lathes by entering instructions, setting tools and offsets,; calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; verify part programs.
Set up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, rotary attachments, fixtures, collets, stops, etc.
Verify settings by measuring positions, complete first-run part, and sample workpieces
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations; measure, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot, adjust, reprogram controls, sharpen/replace worn tools; follow quality assurance procedures and debur parts.
Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Observe and report machine preventive maintenance, malfunctions and repair requirements to proper personnel
Keep a clean and safe work area, including cleaning inside and outside of machines daily and maintaining fixtures, and tooling.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Achieve organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Mazak Mazatrol Experience: Previous experience in operating, programming and setup of Mazak lathes and Mazatrol controls.
CNC and Tooling Experience: Previous experience in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Basic computer and CNC programming skills: Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM. Mastercam programming highly preferred.
Mechanical aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude with solid math skills.
Attention to detail: A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.

Pay is based on experience and proven skill at $20.00 - $26.00 to start.
