Position Type + Hours
This is a permanent full-time, non-exempt position. Core hours of work are Monday through Friday. Shifts are eight hours between 6am and 5pm.
Job Description
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for turning majority of parts with occasional milling required. The part types include hot stamp cylinders, gummers, and other tools needed for production. The operator will conduct the work by mostly standing and walking however, on occasion they would be required to sit, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.

· Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as CNC lathes, CNC milling and engraving machines, cylindrical grinders, knee mill, and drill press
· Measure parts with calipers and micrometers and create inspection reports
· Assist in managing expendable tooling inventory and documentation of procedure
· Perform appropriate quality checks after each processing step
· Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjust machines and report defects and malfunctions appropriately
· Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards
· Wear the proper and required safety gear/equipment
· Lift 10 to 50 pounds safely
Preferred Skills/Experience
· Basic lathe and CNC lathe experience is required - Siemens 840D is preferred
· Mechanical aptitude and experience regarding working on machine tools, equipment, reading production drawings and work orders are required
· Advanced mathematics knowledge required, understanding of the metric system is a plus
· Basic computer knowledge is required
· Understand G codes is preferred
· Detail oriented, time management, communication, and multitasking skills required
· Ability to work independently and stay focused
Education
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· At least 2 years of experience with similar machines i.e. lathes, milling machines, etc.
