This position is located in Houston, Texas.
Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) will include but not be limited to these requirements and duties:
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Must be able and willing to work second shift;
Have 3+ years CNC Lathe and/or Mill (4th axis machine) experience Fanuc control. On DMG MORI SEIKE, DOOSAN, MAZAK machines, preferred.
Ability to understand CNC programs, preferred.
Able to run more than 1 machine at a time.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Ability to perform parts inspection, hold drawing tolerances and use measuring tools.
Provide hands-on manufacturing expertise for machined products.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Ensure correct material type and size used.
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
Maintains cohesion among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain equipment, to keep a nice appearance.
Ability to solve practical problems

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to help modernize and improve our machining operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving and wants to take an active role in converting legacy machines from manual programming to modern CAD/CAM and conversational programming platforms.
Develop and maintain offline N/C programs using CAD/CAM software for CNC turning and machining centers.
Analyze existing manual or outdated programming methods and transition machines to conversational or feature-based programming.
Work with Hexagon or similar software platforms for automated programming and feature recognition.
Maintain and update manufacturing databases and documentation related to standards, methods, tooling, and inspection.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements.
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming, tooling, and machining processes.
Validate and verify CNC programs for accuracy prior to release to the shop floor.
Specify machining data, tooling requirements, and work holding strategies.

Maintain organized records for all CNC programs and associated documentation.
Qualifications:
3-6 years on-the-job experience in the Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering field.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM systems (Mastercam, FeatureCAM, GibbsCAM etc.).
Experience with conversational programming and upgrading legacy machines.
Experience creating offline CNC programs compatible with Fanuc, Siemens, and Haas controllers, including post-processing for different machine platforms.
Familiarity with Hexagon software or similar automated programming platforms.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tool paths, and G-code.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The Machinist performs duties to include but not limited to in-house machine work, repairs, and upgrades to customer's machinery and to repair used or manufacture new components per drawings and procedures
Responsibilities
Assist in shop repairs and machining operations. Learn to manufacture new components per drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions with supervision. Requires attention to detail with very few reworks, rejections, or scrap parts.
Coordinate and work closely with Lead Machinist, Manager, Planner and QA/QC to ensure special repair requirements are met.
Preparation and packaging components for safe shipments. Learning to debur, hone, polish, and cleanup parts after machine operations.
Capable of operating saws to cut stock materials.
Organize and maintain an efficient clean machine shop area.
Qualifications
At least one (1) year of machinist experience.
Minimal working knowledge of the manufacture and assembly of close tolerance turbo-machinery components.
Exposure to machine shop practices and equipment.
Requires manual dexterity and ability to operate manual lathes, mills to repair and manufacture precision parts with supervision.
The ability to work with close tolerance equipment under supervision from other machinist and Lead Man.
Strong organized work ethic required to work with all involved with repair process from start to completion.
Requires machinist problem solving and match skills.
Requires proficient verbal and written communication skills (English).
Must learn to complete documentation and written reports.
Must learn to read drawings and blueprints and accurately read precision measuring tools.
Very organized, good interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, “can do” attitude.
Ability to understand and comply with regulations and processes in the repair procedures.
Requires the ability to work component repairs with direction and guidance from machinist, lead man and Manager. Assist with parts set-ups with other machinist.

Rotating Machinery Services, Inc (RMS Inc.) is seeking a qualified Manual Machinist to work 1st shift and perform a variety of machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations, etc. They perform a detailed incoming inspection using micrometers and other fine measurement tools, learn to draw prints based on their findings and make recommendations on necessary critical repairs. As well rounded machinists and fabricators they are able to select and operate the proper machine shop tools to remove damaged babbitt and prepare the bearing for repair. They may also use raw materials, welding tools, flame spraying, or electrical test equipment to manufacture, alter or test components as part of the process. During the babbitting process they move the part to our custom foundry where they apply new babbitt using various casting techniques. Once the babbitt is cast, their skill at precision machining and metalworking outputs a finished bearing crafted to precise dimensions. Using non-destructive testing techniques and measurement tools they verify the quality and dimensions of their work before preparing the bearing to ship to the customer.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting.
Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene.
Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand).
Advanced oral and written communication.
Advanced math skills to calculate tolerances and dimensions.
Must be able to read and understand Blueprints and G-Code.
Must be familiar with basic machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations.
