Computer numerical controller machinist job in Little Rock, AR
Makes aircraft parts using one or more of the following machines: CNC lathe, 3 axis outers, & 5 axis milling machines, multi-axis turning system and FMS milling system laser cutting machine to cut sheet metal parts or a CNC brake to bend sheet metal parts using different materials based on part type and program.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Work with CNC programs, blueprints, company standards, work instructions, and performs necessary calculations using shop math to complete tasks related to making aircraft parts.
Apply edge fill compound to honeycomb panels.
Perform quality checks of fabricated items.
Communicate and interact with programmers and management to understand intricacies of programs and to efficiently operate the machines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Complete tasks within assigned time limits.
Determine work to be accomplished to complete assignments within established schedules and plan accordingly.
Accurately log computerized labor data collection for time and attendance tracking.
Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
Set up and operate all standard shop equipment.
Capable of running multiple types of CNC machines.
Ability to perform daily/weekly maintenance on the equipment that they are running.
Select materials from stock when applicable.
Foster ACE values with peers and help create a work environment aimed at operational excellence.
Records operational data such as lot number and materials, and documents information into HMS, as required.
Makes and prints parts identification labels by using the ID machine and attaches labels to completed parts when applicable.
Cleans machines and equipment at different time periods (i.e., every Friday), or as needed, by using cleaning agents (i.e., Windex, Lysol); and maintains cleanliness of workstation areas using 5S standards.
Communicates with staff and team leader to prevent rework or scrap.
Troubleshooting issues with CNC machines and adjust as needed to meet engineering requirements.
Monitor inventory levels as needed in the Kanban areas.
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machine principles.
Computer proficient.
Ability to set up and operate two or more machines listed above As related to the CNC Machining process.
Ability to work from documentation such as drawings, F-Standards, preparation packages and 3D models.
Good working knowledge of math and geometry and able to work in both Metric and Imperial units of measure.
Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and rework.
Power tool training is current.
Must complete all LMS training requirements for level ll within 90 days of assignment.
Elevated knowledge of machinery practices and abilities to trouble-shot these issues.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position typically falls between $25.00 and $29.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for shift differential. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the Fabrication shop manager.
Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities.
Keep area clean and organized
Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
Follow all safety policies
Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually or using a hoist.

What You Will Do:
The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for a Machinist Technician for 2nd shift. Shift earns 8% shift premium after training period on 1st shift. The training hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM to 3:00PM and permanent 2nd shift hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM.
PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility. Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.
* Set-up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts.
* Read blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine machine and set-up requirements.
* Set-up and prepare includes: set up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
* Operator level maintenance of machine and set up documents.
* Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met.
* Maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications You Must Have:
* HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 2 years of machining experience.
* Previous experience/training reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements.

Responsibilities
Full understanding of predictive & proactive maintenance.
Machine parts to specifications following instructions, drawings, blueprints.
Setup CNC milling machine and CNC lathe for pre-written programs
Generate simple programs for milling, drilling, and taping on CNC mill and lathe
Adjust programs and offsets as required.
Setup manual lathe to turn, groove, thread, taper, drill, and other basic practices
Setup manual mill machine, drill, and tap parts
Keep a clean and organized work area
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
· 2+ years of CNC machining experience
· 2 + years of mill & lathe experience
must be able to write G-code from scratch
· Ability to read and understand programs (G code and M code)
· Experience working with stainless steel 300 series
Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, part specifications and GD&T.
Ability to use and understand metric and standard measurements.
Knowledgeable in the use of hand tools and power equipment, precision measuring devices and simple cutting tools.
Must have basic machinist tools, and hand tools
· Ability to work in extreme heat and cold conditions
· Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly
· Valid driver's license
