Position Overview : The Machine Shop Technician I work under the guidance and supervision of the Machining Supervisor to support day-to-day machine shop operations. This entry-level role focuses on developing core machining skills, maintaining shop cleanliness, and assisting with material preparation. The Technician I is expected to adhere to Fibreworks Composites (FWC) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and company policies while actively supporting a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Cut various types of materials using manual machines such as band saws, planers, table saws, skill saws, and jointers.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical devices.
Assist in the bonding and gluing of materials in accordance with multiple FWC SOPs.
Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner (upon certification).
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Maintain and organize stock materials, tools, and tooling to support workflow.
Communicate inventory needs to the Administrator for timely restocking.
Perform routine shop upkeep, including machine cleaning, coolant level checks (using a refractometer), and general housekeeping (sweeping, mopping, dusting).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T callouts, and manufacturing instructions to perform accurate machining operations.
* Perform complete setup, operation, adjustment, and basic programming adjustments of CNC and manual machines for production runs.
* Consistently meet or exceed daily/shift production goals while maintaining quality standards.
* Perform initial dimensional inspections and in-process quality verifications to verify product conformity throughout the manufacturing process utilizing precision metrology instrumentation. Proficiency in calculating target dimensions and compensation offsets through trigonometric functions is required.
* Quickly identify machining issues, tooling wear, or equipment failures, and take immediate corrective action to minimize downtime.
* Accurately document production metrics, including output volumes, material scrap rates, equipment downtime, and additional critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing systems.
* Actively collaborate with production leads, engineers, and maintenance personnel to resolve bottlenecks and optimize production flow.
* Monitor tooling life, recommend tool changes, and adjust feeds/speeds using High Efficiency Milling (HEM) calculation formulas to maintain production efficiency that aligns with our global strategy.
* Participate in shift handoffs and team huddles to ensure smooth communication across shifts.
* Support 5S, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing throughput and reducing costs.
* Crosstrain and assist in multiple work centers or machines as needed to meet production demands.
* Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
* Must be able to work overtime as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
* Technical Trade School or machining apprenticeship certification preferred.
* 5+ years of hands-on machining experience in a high-volume production environment (medical, aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors preferred).
* Advanced knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain) and manual machining operations.
* Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and in-process inspection methods.
* Familiarity with production scheduling systems (ERP/MRP) and electronic data entry a plus.
* Ability to interpret complex work instructions and adjust processes to meet shifting production priorities.
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and meeting daily/shift production goals.
* Ability to work overtime, weekends, and multiple shifts as production needs dictate.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bilingual CNC Stone Cutter for our 3rd shift (10:00 PM 6:00 AM) to join our fabrication team. This role involves operating CNC machines to cut, shape, and finish granite, marble, quartz, and other natural or engineered stone surfaces. What Youll Do
Set up and operate CNC stone cutting machines according to design specifications and work orders.
Load and secure stone slabs for cutting.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and fabrication templates.
Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and precision.
Perform quality checks on finished pieces to ensure accuracy and craftsmanship.
Clean and maintain CNC machines and work area to ensure safe operation.
Assist with general shop duties as needed (e.g., polishing, edge profiling, material handling).
Communicate clearly with supervisors, designers, and team members in both English and Spanish.
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
13 years of experience operating CNC machines, preferably in the stone or countertop industry.
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, etc.).
Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency (required or strongly preferred).
