Position Overview:
The setup machinist will lead the transition/changeover between production runs on various CNC machines such as mills and lathes then operate select machines through the remainder of the production run while ensuring quality parts from the work cell.

Fiberglass Cutting Technician (CNC Operator)
Freeman Boatworks - known around the world for exceptional quality and performance - is looking for a Fiberglass Cutting Technician (CNC Operator) to join our growing team.
In this role, you'll play an important part in our production process. You'll help prepare and operate CNC machines to cut fiberglass kits, organize and label materials, track inventory, and make sure each build has the correct parts ready to go. If you enjoy hands-on work, have an eye for detail, and like being part of a team that takes pride in what they build, this could be a great fit for you.
Duties and Responsibilities
Handle materials safely and appropriately
Set up and/or program CNC machinery
Follow all safety protocols and keep required certifications current
Inspect and maintain machinery to ensure quality and reliability
Perform daily equipment maintenance
Review blueprints and work instructions accurately
Inspect components to confirm they meet specifications
Document work according to company guidelines
Keep your work area clean and organized
Follow instructions from team leaders and supervisors
Work well with others in a team setting
Qualifications
Previous CNC operator or Eastman machinery experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, and squatting
Stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift
Work in awkward positions or tight spaces as needed
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
Tolerance for exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and outdoor elements
Possible exposure to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, and cleaners

The Role
Develops and writes programs for numericallycontrolled machines using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations. Develops programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numericallycontrolled machine tools. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;
One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

JOB PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the fabrication of high precision machined components. A machine operator will run machining equipment and is responsible for the loading/unloading, measuring, and making routine dimensional adjustments. Machine Operators must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to all Safety Principles.
Adhere to all Quality System Standards.
Operate simple to complex CNC machines including Saws, CNC lathes, Gun drill and CNC mills.
Make required adjustments to maintain specifications utilizing engineering drawings, verbal instructions, written Operator Instructions, engineering drawings and boundary samples.
Process components within established operator cycle times.
Measure components and test complete assemblies using calibrated test and measuring equipment.
Prepare required written documentation, i.e., Product Acceptance Records, Nonconforming Material Reports.
Assist in on-the-job training of other employees.
Participate in Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery improvements.
Adhere to guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe handling, removal, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
18 Years or older
Ability to read and understand Safety Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and engineering drawings.
Ability to operate CNC equipment.
Ability to use common and power tools.
Ability to use calibrated test and measuring equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with work groups.
Ability to apply problem solving techniques to troubleshoot and implement corrective action.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Employees work in a controlled climate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee will be sitting, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, daily.
Ability to lift 45lbs.
Ability to stand, bend and reach for an 8-12-hour shift.
